I understand what the concept of being invisible, I really do. If you're too fat or too thin, don't look the way people want you to look, or don't act the way they want you to act then you mean absolutely nothing to them. Good thing I'm used to it.
My name is Liliana Faye. I have dark brown hair and dull blue eyes that in no way complimented my pale ivory skin. I'm casual; not like the queen bee of our school,Julia. Perfect body, perfect blond hair, and perfect bright green eyes. She's just perfectly perfect.
"Earth to Lily!! Liliana!" I snapped my head in the direction of the voice though I didn't need to look to know who it was. My best friend Josh Collins who also happens to be the Co-captain of the football team. I know, I'm a nerd so why would he be friends with me. The truth is that we've been friends since we were in diapers and even after all of my friends left me he is the only one who stuck with me.
"Sorry what were you saying.," I said and smiled apologetically. I had a tendency to blank out a lot when people talked to me.
"I said, are you coming to my Halloween Party?" I looked at him to see if he was joking. I never went to any parties unless they were small birthday parties with my family or Josh made me come to his birthday parties against my will.
"This is a joke right?" I said and began to laugh. "You're really funny if you think I'm coming to your party!"
"Let me word that differently. When should I pick you up for my party?" He said as we sat down at a lunch table outside. Josh could sit with who ever he wanted, possibly Julia who totally was in love with him or maybe the rest of the football team, but he still sat with me.
"I don't get why you brought this up or where it came from but I am definitely not coming to your party." I paused and took a sip of my juice."As much as I love you, the answer is no!"
"Liliana Elena Faye! You listen and you listen good!" Whenever he said my full name, that meant he was talking business."I just want you to do this once, dress up just once, stand out for once. One night is all I'm asking for. You can even wear a mask if you don't want anyone to know its you. Or maybe you can be someone else for the night."
He did have a good point. Maybe for one night I could be someone else. No one would have to know its me. Just for tomorrow night. "Fine! But just this once!"
"Now all we have to do is get you something appropriate for the party. And by that I mean something inappropriate." He shouted and a few heads turn in our direction. I looked down as I blushed furiously.
Oh god what have I gotten myself into?
Okay everyone so I know this is a short chapter but I'm just testing out the waters. What do you all think? Any advice? Thanks again for reading!!
