Liam's POV
"I can't believe her Danielle! She is in so much trouble." I exclaim into the phone. My 14 year old daughter has snuck out - again - while she is grounded.
Let me explain. Danielle and I were talking about having a child, and I met Jayde wandering the streets of Wolverhampton. I instantly wanted to help her and Danielle and I adopted her from the orphanage she was staying at.
"Liam, she's just taking a while to adjust. She been on her own for her while life!" "Yeah you're right babe, but she needs to learn that we're only trying to help her. Plus she has been here for 10months, almost a year!" I respond softly. Jayde is a little...difficult. She sometimes sneaks out, won't eat or do anything we ask her to. I hear a thud upstairs signaling that she is home. "She's back, when will you be here?" Danielle sighs. "Rehearsals finish at 2:30 then we were going to have coffee, but I can come home if you need me?" She says tiredly. "No! God Danielle you don't have to do that I can handle it here for an hour, have fun!" I say, hanging up before she can argue.
I take a deep breath before ascending the stairs of the flat. I knowck on Jaydes door, but don't hesitate to push it open and walk in. She is sitting on her bed with her headphones in, staring at the ceiling. She glances at me quickly before returning her gaze to the ceiling.
"Jayde..." She looks at me innocently. "Yeah Dad?"
Suck up.
"Where the hell have you been?" I exclaim and she looks at me shocked. "Um..I-I d-don't know what you mean?" She says sitting up. I give her a 'I wasn't born yestetday' look.
"Just tell me where you were Jayde." I say, trying to calm myself down. "Dad! I was just..with some friends, it's no big deal.." she trails off when she sees my expression. "You're grounded, so yeah it's a big deal!"
"I don't get why I was even grounded in the first place, so why should I go along with it?" I look at her, shocked. "You got into a fight, you gave a kid a black eye!" I shout, how can she say she doesn't know why she was grounded.
"Yeah well, she deserved it!" she says, pouting and crossing her arms. "Jayde when you're grounded that means you can't leave the house, I'm really disappointed in you" I say, putting my head in my hands.
"I'm sorry Daddy" she says, looking up at me with those adorable eyes.
No Liam! Focus. "Thankyou for apologizing, now come here." I say sternly. "Only if you promise you won't spank me." she says timidly. I shake my head. "Cant do that Jaydey." She gets up and walks towards me, but just as she reaches me, she changes direction and sprints past me out the door and down the stairs. "Jayde come back!"
"No! I don't wanna get a spanking, please daddy" she says appearing at the bottom of the stairs. I sigh- I am going to, she needs to learn.
"It's the only way you will learn Jayde, I know you." She hangs her head in defeat and I quickly take the opportunity to walk down the stairs and pick her up, carrying her on my hip like a toddler into the bedroom on this floor. I sit down on the bed, still holding her. I lay her across my lap. "You're gonna spank mee?!" Jay whines.
"Yep." I say. "Ok, ready?" She grunts unhappily in response. "How many do you think?" I question. "3?" She says hopefully. "Yeah right, how about 7." She sighs.
"Jayde Laura Payne, why am I doing this? I say. "This is so embarrassing Dad, please I promise I'll be good!" I spank her mildly as a response. She groans.
"Why are we here?"
"Because I snuck out while I was grounded." I hit her again, this time harder.
I do it twice more the same. "Are you gonna do it again?" She pauses. "Jayde!" "Fine! No I won't do it again." I spank her harder. "Anything else you have to say?"
"I'm sorry, I love you Daddy." she says and I can tell she's trying not to cry. I hit her and then pause. "Last one, don't scream or cry baby." I say and she nods.
She takes a big breath and holds it in, knowing this will be the hardest. I spank her as hard as I can and she let's out a yelp of pain, I pull her up and hug her tight. "I'm sorry Daddy, I love you." she says, tears leaking from her eyes. "I love you too- please don't do that again, I was worried! I'm sorry that I had to do that but you really do have to learn." I say in a hushed tone, rubbing her back, gaining her trust back after I disciplined her.
"I'm going to take a shower." she says quietly, "Okay babe, just hurry, everyone is coming here for dinner." I say with a smile, kissing her on the forehead.
I run a tight ship. I know, I know what you're thinking, it's pretty harsh? But really it's not. When she first got here she was sneaking out, going to that skate park and smoking and drinking with random teenage boys! She's 14! I started off by grounding her, taking away privileges, everything! But nothing worked-it just made it worse. So Danielle and I talked it over and decide that spanking her as a punishment might help and it has, she has been much better behaved lately. I'm relieved, I was beginning to think we would have to give her up- she was just becoming so hard to handle.
I hear a knock at the door and walk over to open it.
Harry, Niall, Zayn and Perrie barge past me and plop down in the living room, making themselves at home.
"Hey, how you going mate?" Harry says, stretching out and putting his feet on Perrie's lap. She just rolls here eyes and plays with Zayns hair as he sits on his phone at her feet.
She is the only one he will let touch his hair.
"Pretty average mate. Jay snuck out today, she's grounded." I say with a grimace. "Oh, what did you do?" Harry questions.
"Well, I yelled at her, then I punished her." I say, rubbing the back of my neck.
Harry nodded and looked down at his phone. They all knew about how Jayde was.
"Where is she by the way?" Perrie said, looking up at me. "In the shower, i think she will probably stay in her room until Dani gets home." I say and Perrie just nods.
"Where is Lou-" I am cut off by Louis barging into the flat loudly, followed by Eleanor. "Hello children!" Eleanor exclaims, jumping on Harry's legs.
I chuckle at her- meanwhile i hear Louis rustling around in our pantry. He comes out moments later with a carton of beer. I don't need to voice my concerns though, because Niall beats me to it. "Do you think thats a good idea with Jayde hanging out with us?" He say in his thick Irish accent.
I speak up, "Yeah don't worry about it, i don't think she will be feeling very brave tonght.."
Louis cheers and passes everyone a beer. 'I'll go start dinner" Eleanor says, taking her beer into the kitchen, Perrie follows noiselessly behind her.
We are all really comfortable in each others homes and they know how tired Dani is when she gets home from a rehearsal. Plus i can't cook to save my life.
