Hunter is probably the most mysterious and misunderstood in the group, he used to be called names like useless and a mistake, but since after the war he's been trying to change. He tries changing his attitude a little, and tries to get rid of his numbing past memories. Through the years since after his twelfth birthday he's been tortured, bullied and mistreated, making him cold, snappy and distant. His uncle, Loki, blames himself for what happened to his father and put a spell to hopefully make him forget the events.
But two years later, it wore off, but he didn't blame his uncle. Along with his father's temporary death, his past love interest, Shade Grandheart died of Phantoms who killed her. Hunter blamed himself gravely about her death, and swore to her that he'd avenge her in some way if not killing the Phantoms who killed her. But, Hunter's soul got corrupted and along came Death, Death appeared a few days after Shade's death and it was scary at first. Hunter would get nightmares, migraines and even feel like his life energy was being drained slowly as Death spoke to him.
Death is a corrupted part of Hunter's soul, and he's been solely reminding Hunter of his biggest regret constantly, the more Hunter dwelled on it, the more Death would become more powerful and probably drain Hunter's life energy completely if not gotten rid of.
As of now, Hunter's more open and tries to be outgoing and less cold. He's taken interest in Izzy and can't help but notice great similarities between her and Shade, so he tries to cherish their moments together as much as he did with Shade before. And feelings for Izzy slowly developed into feelings of love.
