Jake is one of the main protagonists in Jamaa Academy, first mentioned in chapter three.

Sibling(s): Angel Zanypaw (Little sister) and Jordan Zanypaw (Little brother)
Jake is the future Lightning Magic Alpha of Jamaa, his family never really had experience with the Gems and/or Jamaa Academy before he was invited but he handles his magic pretty well. As a Lightning elemental, his favorite perk is that when driven by certain emotions like excitement, he can gain very fast speed for a certain time until the emotion dies down.
He stayed in Jamaa Academy for two years before he met Swift, and he's learned quite a lot. His favorite teacher was definitely Sir Landon because of his enthusiasm and patience as a teacher, as a jammer, Jake's a brave, loyal and kind fox with a witty attitude. His down sides are that he can be impulsive and cold. He's had a past with Hunter that made him grow hatred towards him, but they seem to be getting along slowly.
