every monday morning
there will be a knock on the door
a lady on her mid 40s
reminding her to take her meds and lock her door
just before she left
because even the tiniest pretty little flat
deserves safety

every tuesday morning
she would lie awake at 2
because she believed there was something missing
like the songs she used to sing
and the giggles she used to hear

every wednesday morning
she would wake up at 4
gasping for air
she would reach the nearest pen
and write down the nightmare she had
she always forget the bright part

every thursday morning
there will be a knock on her door
it was either the mailman
or the laundry lady
because she wasn't subscribed to the local newspaper
nor the fresh milk in glass bottles

every friday morning
she would get up early to work
just because she was happy it was friday
it's been a year since she saw her grandmother
six feet under the ground
and the boy she left smiling in the storms
she never saw him since then

every saturday morning
she would save her $5.00
and brew herself a cup of black coffee
with half a sugar and a little milk
because even the most bitter thing
deserves a little sweet touch
