The new house was big, too big. Dad had brought it especially for Christie, his new upgrade from mom. The spotless white walls and towering ceilings showed just the kind of people my dad and stepmom were. Rich, and happy to show it. The only room in the house that was any good was my room. Even though it was big, it was rather homely. With yellow walls and a pretty bed. It reminded me of my room at my mom's, before she got ill. I sighed, sitting down on my bed and dropping my bag on my floor beside me. A soft knock at my door indicated my dad finally shown up.
"Hey, sweetheart! Do you like your room?" He asked. I looked up into his hopeful face. I couldn't stay mad at him, he was trying his best.
"It's great, dad" I said with a smile. The relieved look on his face was enough to prove that I was right to lie to him.
"That's good, honey. I got this room painted, so you might feel more comfortable in it after moving so far away from Texas" He said. I grinned at him, he had put a lot of effort to make me feel comfortable and at home.
"It's great, dad. I just can't wait to see Sam, it has been ages since I saw him" I said.
"Well you should head off to bed you'll get to see him tomorrow at school" he gave me a hesitant hug and walked out.
I really couldn't wait to see Sam. The last time I had seen him was when we were ten. He was driving away with his mom and dad. His dad had been transferred here, to Colorado; which had seemed like a million miles away from good ol' Texas.

I was running through the trees, trying to get away from an invisible threat. My legs pumping, breath wheezing through my mouth. I stopped and looked around me. I was in the wood's outside my old house but they were different. The trees seemed to be bending in to grab me. A harsh giggle sounded behind me. I turned to see who it had come from. I heard it again, but this time it seemed to come from all around me. A woman leapt at me, hands going around my neck. I couldn't get a breath. I tried to scream but nothing came out. Blood was dripping from her mouth as she grinned. I screamed again, trying to get up. I managed to throw her off me and began to run again. Her voice was heard again, it was singing "Honey, where are you?". I turned around facing the way I'd come waiting, waiting for her to pounce. She leapt at me from the side, crashing into me. Throwing me to the ground. Just as I was about to hit the ground, I let out a piercing scream. I sat up in bed still screaming. I started to shake, as I looked around my room. Her voice still rang through from my dream "You'll never be safe from me...", it said. I sighed shuddering and running my hand through my hair. I looked at my alarm clock, it was 6:00am. I stretched my muscle in my bed. It was always the same dream, every night. It left me exhausted because of the lack sleep. Getting up, I walked to my bathroom. Flicking on the light and looking in the mirror. My red brown hair hung limply and my green eyes standing out against my pale face. I splashed some water on my face and proceeded to get ready for school.
I put my hair up into a messy bun and put on some lip balm. I grabbed some shorts, a white tank top and put my uniform on my bed. My new school was Estate College, a private school only for the rich, which I suppose I now was.
My dad had gotten me a new car, a corvette stingray, to get me to and from school. A brand new school uniform; which was a beige and red pleated skirt, white top, red tie, beige vest and beige blazer. I wasn't used to wearing a uniform. My old school didn't have one but as dad said 'There is a price for greater education.'. Whatever, it was still lame.
I must of stood there for a while looking at it because I suddenly heard Cristie screeching at me, "Tassarra, hurry up your going to be late!!" I yelled back "I'm going I'm going!" I chuck on the uniform on and bolted down the stairs.
As I ran down the stairs, I heard Cristie moaning to my Dad "She yelled at me Paulie Bear. Why is she so mean?" I could practically see her bottom lip sticking out as she whined to my father about me.
I waited on the stairs to hear my fathers response, "My darling, don't worry she is a teenager. She id probably still angry she has another beautiful woman in the house." I walked in and snorted as I opened the fridge to get my lunch.
"Sure, beautiful" my father looked horrified as he said this. "Tass, that's no way to treat your Stepmother"
"Whatever, Dad" I said rolling my eyes.
"Tass, you need to stop acting like this. Now, get to school and stop harassing Cristie"
"Fine, I have to go now anyway. I don't want to be late now, do I?" I smirked at Cristie as I say this.
Dad sighed. "Just go."
