ACT ONE, SCENE ONE: Hospitals Suck
"I love you so much. Please, don't leave."MALLORY WAS RUSHED TO THE emergency room after another couple found her mangled-up car and her body dangling out of the drivers side. They called the police and an ambulance from their car phone. While they waited, the two helped to drag the unconscious Mallory out.
She was scraped up pretty bad. There would probably be a nice scar on her arm to mirror the one from the strange monster last year. Glass was stuck everywhere, from her face to her legs.
Speaking of legs, Mallory had a large shard of metal stuck in her upper thigh that looked like it had been dragged up her leg. Blood soaked through her jeans. It was a gruesome crash.
Mallory actually didn't just crash into the tree. She hit it with her passenger side so it sent her spinning across the lonely road before she slammed into another tree and stopped there. Scrap metal littered the road.
Once she got to the hospital, the police were able to track down Jimmy via the license plate. He had been calling the police all night after he couldn't find Mallory. Unfortunately, this isn't how he wanted to the police to find her.
The police knock on the Manor House door late in the night. Luckily, Jimmy was still awake and waiting for Mallory to get home. He opened the door.
"Hello, sir. Are you James Manor?" The state trooper that was at the door asked almost immediately.
Jimmy nodded, "Yes. Is there a problem?"
"Unfortunately, yes. Sir, are you the owner of Mercedes S-Class with the license plate eleven-T-seven-one-oh-four?" The officer took his hat off.
"Yes, that's my sister's car. Is everything okay? Did you guys find her?" Jimmy's nerves were wreaking havoc inside his body.
"Sir, that car has just been found on Bending Creek. It was involved in a single-car accident. We found a girl on the scene and she's being sent to Saint Raphael's right now. I've been—"
The trooper kept on talking but Jimmy couldn't hear anymore. There was too much flying around in his head to decipher which noises were internal and which were external. He couldn't feel anything but complete and total shock.
Debbie at some point had woken up and come downstairs to find the officer and Jimmy with tears in his eyes. She hugged Jimmy as she tried to put together the information that was still spewing out of the officer's mouth. They immediately left for the hospital.
"Jimmy?" Debbie asked, holding back a breakdown, "Is Mallory going to be okay?"
"I don't know. I really don't know." He whispered.
When they got to the hospital, it was surprisingly calm. The nurse immediately knew who the Manors were here for based on how they scrambled inside. Everyone else in the hallway was barely disturbed.
