Your heart skipped a beat and your palms became sweaty. What kind of problem? It had to be really bad, considering how tense Daniel was. He fiddled with his hands waiting for you to react.
"What do you mean we have a big problem?"
Your hand rubbed over his shoulders. His behavior worried you. In all the time you had been with him you had never seen him like this.
Daniel took your other hand in both of his and he looked at you, his eyes shining with worry. This thumb rubbed over your knuckles and he let his head fall on your shoulder. He huffed out a deep sigh before he was speaking up.
"Something happened. They found out that you are here. They are threatening us. I have to protect you. I can't- I won't let you get hurt because of me. I am supposed to protect you and I will do it with my life."
His outburst worried you even more. Something you didn't think you'd feel when it came to Daniel. He was the reason you were here involuntarily, the reason your parents were killed. The reason for the suffering you had experienced.
But there was a small voice in your head. So small it was almost inaudible. But it was there, telling you that he wasn't all bad. He had told you he never wanted all these things to happen. He just wanted you to be comfortable and happy. Happy with him. And the more time you spend together the more you could imagining yourself trying to build a relationship with him.
Your hand that had been stroking his back slid up to his neck and you scratched his scalp with your nails, you head resting on top of his. He was breathing heavily as if he had run a marathon. So you tried calming him down.
"Daniel you're not giving me any context here. Nothing is going to happen to me. We will get married soon and no one can touch me. I will be yours. What will they do to us? You're one of the most valuable people in your business. Nothing is going to happen to me."
He looked up, his eyes full of worry and something different. Was it appreciation, adoration or even love? You couldn't tell.
His hand reached out to your cheek, caressing it softly and pulling your face closer to his. You could feel his breath fanning over your face as goosebumps rose all over your skin. His touch held something special, something that wasn't there before. He leaned his forehead against yours, closed his eyes while letting out a deep sigh.
"I don't have the power to stay away from you anymore."
You lips formed into a shy smile, your hands now laying over his, lightly gripping onto him as if he were the last thing keeping you sane. And maybe he was. When he opened his eyes you lost yourself in the brown orbs, letting yourself fall into their color.
"Then don't."
You couldn't even pronounce the words fully before his lips were on yours. The kissing turned more passion by the second and his hands slid from you cheek over your waist to your ass. Your hands moved to the back of his neck to pull him closer. Daniel pulled you on his lap, his hands still on your ass making you grind back and forth on his clothed dick. He kissed down from your jaw to your neck where he sucked lightly on the skin, making you let out a small moan. Clothes were shed and the silence was filled with moans and deep groans. It was the first night Daniel made love to you.
The next morning you woke up because of the door slamming and the blinds being opened. The sunlight streamed through the room making you squint at the light. Daniel behind you let out a groan and hid his face in your neck.
"Oh no Daniel. Come on, get out of bed and get ready. We have to get the bride ready."
Grace stood at the edge of the bed and waited for Daniel to get up. He sat up and stretched before standing up, thank God he had pulled on boxers last night, and walked out of the room after giving you a kiss on the cheek.
Only now you had realized what today was.
Your wedding day.
