Dean Winchester glanced down the aim of his gun, polish rag in one hand and a bottle of Jack in the other. Sam Winchester sat at the rickety desk with his shining laptop that looked so out of place in the dank of the motel.
'This would be easier if someone would show up when he said he would.' Sam was brooding from his Internet perch.
'I'm sure he has a reason.' Dean said without a thought. Sam turned to look at him, one slender eyebrow raised.
'I'm sure you're right.' he said slowly. Dean looked up and his heart gave a wild leap. Standing behind an unsuspecting Sam was Castiel. His dark ruffled hair and out-of-this-earth blue eyes that sparked his damaged soul. He blinked, surprised at himself. Where did these thoughts come from?
'Dean.' Cas breathed. Dean's heart gave another warm squeeze.
'Cas.' his name was like fine sweet wine, battling the after taste of cheap liquor.
'You called and I am here.' he said. His face was tense and dirty but his eyes were a light all their own. They gazed into Deans deep forest green eyes and millions of minutes passed. Sam apperantly noticed that something was different.
'hum. Hem hum.' Sam cleared his throat loudly. Dean broke away from the strangle hold that had come from no where to look at his brother. Sam gave him a confused look and before Dean could react, it changed to a mysterious understanding. Did Sam know something he didn't?
'I uh, need to go on a walk.' Sam shut his lap top and got up.
'What? I thought this was important!' Dean said. His brother was so weird.
'This can wait a few hours.' Sam grabbed his jacket and slammed the door shut behind him. Hours?
'Whatever, psycho.' Dean rolled his eyes and started putting his gun back together.
'You called?' Cas said. My breath caught in my throat. He couldn't understand what was wrong with him. He threw his gun back in his duffel bag once it was restored and slung it over his tense shoulder.
'Yeah. We need your help, Cas.'
'Anything for you Dean.' he said. Dean glanced up at him, and smiled. Cas was always there for him. When heaven raged in war, when lucifer rose, and then he was locked away in Hell. Who knows, Maybe Cas was his guardian angel and had been around before Dean knew him.
'I'll explain in the car.' Dean turned and walked toward the front door.
