Cas's face was beautiful, floating in a halo of golden light. Dean tried to reach out to him, but his arms were heavy. His brow furrowed in confusion. This wasn't happening.
A memory?
Cat was below him. So was another man, a blonde man with brilliant green eyes. It was him.
He saw himself but he was different. He was bloody and cut to ribbons but he glowed. Where was he?
The Dean below him seemed just as confused.
'where am I?' he watched himself ask Cas.
'We are in heaven. My heaven. You were wounded pretty badly. You required more healing than I could do on earth.' Cas told him. When did this happen? This was weird.
'What? Just from that lowly creature?' the Dean below scoffed.
'That lowly creature was very powerful. She drained all your energy to the very raw core of your soul.' Cas explained. Dean found himself wondering what he had fought and why he didn't remember doing so.
'A witch could do that?'
'She was no ordinary witch. She was so corrupted, so evil, she pushed herself beyond all laws of magic.'
'so a real life Voldemort?'
'I don't understand that reference.' Cas said. Dean chuckled at the angel below him but the Dean there just looked at him with exhaustion.
'Her soul is gone. More powerful than any demon. She could manipulate anything and everything. I was only able to send her away, even I couldn't destroy her. She is in the pit with Michael and Lucifer.'
Dean heard himself gasp but the two below didn't seem to know he was there. How could Castiel open the pit without letting anything out?
'How did you do that?' Dean exclaimed.
'I would do anything for you.' Cas said. Both Dean's just looked shocked.
Suddenly, he felt a great air current whipping into him, pulling him back and away from Castiel and himself. He cried out for Cas but then everything was dark.
'Dean!' Cas called. Dean's eyes fluttered open and Castiel was standing above him. The blonde woman was pressed against the door, her eyes black and teeth bared. Dean leaped to his feet, the golden glow still on his mind. But he had more pressing matters now.
'Crossroads demon.' Dean hissed. Cas moved forward and the woman threw her head back, mouth wide open.
Nothing happened.
She looked up to see the devil's trap painted on the ceiling.
'come on, you should know better.' Dean said, smirking.
'who are you? Why do you have an angel?'she spat.
'I'm Dean Winchester. You've never heard of me?'
'you're Dean Winchester?' her eyes widened. Dean chuckled.
'if you want to live, you're not doing a swell job.'
'I think we both know that I am not going to live. And neither is this meat suit.' the demon grinned and clawed her hands. She dug her nails into her own abdomen and started tearing. Blood spurted from her and before Dean could react, Cas ran forward and grabbed her head. She shrieked and her hands dropped to her side. Light burst from her eyes as she writhed and she dropped to the ground.
