I wanted to leave, I wanted to sleep. But with two very drunk friends and little to no body strength, I couldn't lug them home.
Seth eventually found Sarah and I in the bedroom where Sarah was happily asleep. He could hardly stand without swaying, so he decided he deserve to take a nap along with her.
Knowing there were fine and hearing the party dwindle to almost nothing, I decided to go find Tyler. I needed to talk to him and explain a few things and eventually apologize for all that went down tonight.
I carried myself down the stairs and rounding the corner towards the living room. The living room was now mostly empty, prompting me to look at my phone for the time. It read a little passed three-thirty.
That much time passed by, I thought. There was so much going on that time seemed to be running a little faster than usual.
Small groups of people littered the living room and hallways that lead to who knows. Most of them probably to drunk to do anything and waiting to sober up. I saw Tyler entering the kitchen with a trash bag half full. I saw this an my opportunity.
I walk passed the sitting area that a few kids hung off of, half asleep and went into the kitchen. Tyler was speaking with another person that I didn't know, speaking quietly.
"Tyler?" I call out, getting his attention.
"Yes, love?" He replies, his smirk gliding on his face like a hot knife through butter. "Do you need something?"
"I was hoping we could talk?" I said, feeling extremely insecure under the intense gaze of the two boys.
"I'm kinda busy." He answered.
"I can help, I'm staying." I reply faster than maybe I should've. I turn my gaze downwards to my feet and shift my weight.
"Okay, Blondie. We can talk as long as you help clean." Said Tyler, walking towards me with a smirk. "If you wanted me alone, you could've asked." He mutters when he gets close enough. I blush, not liking the feeling when he brushes passed me, out the door way.
I follow behind, waving slightly at the boy still leaning on the refrigerator. He smiles before turning down a hallway I didn't realize was there.
Tyler was talking to a few scattered people, pointing towards the many different hallways there are. I joined by his side, already grabbing cups all over the floor. I reach for the trash bag and dump the contents of my hand into the semi full bag.
Tyler continues with conversations as more people come to talk to him, some asking for a bathroom, a person or like where the giraffe went. I peaked my head from my bent position with a perplex look sketched on my face. Tyler laughs quietly and shakes his head.
"It went to Narnia." Replied him, shaking his head like a 'duh' look. The boy nods and smiles to himself and walks off.
"Is he on something?" I ask more to myself.
"I think so." Tyler whispers, a ghost of a smile on his face. "What did you wanna talk about?" He ask having no more people gathering his attention.
"I just wanted to say thank you." I say, looking up at him.
"Why?" He asks.
"Because I don't know what you did with that guy but you cared." I answer, standing tall and dumping the trash in the bag.
"You seemed worried. I just did what most would do."
"You see, it's a party. People usually don't care unless it affected someone close to them. You don't know Sarah but you still cared." I finish with a huff. "And I need to say sorry as well. How I acted earlier wasn't in line."
"Well I think I'm going to have to think on that." He rubbed his chin in a 'I'm thinking' pose.
"Tyler, I tutor you. I could be the one that lets you not graduate." I say, a hand on my hip.
"Oh, so you're gonna blackmail me now? I don't know if I can for give you any more." He teases.
"Oh shut up!" I mutter. I shake my head over his stupidness, continuing picking up trash. We go throughout the house, cleaning up the house but never really conversing.
When we finished walking the first floor, many of the stragglers finally going home. We rounded a corner to be met with my used to be very drunk friends on the couch, up against a wall.
"Look who finally is up?" I ask, walking towards them. The looked up and met my eye. Sarah smiled while Seth grimace from his no doubt horrible headache.
"Where have you been?" Sarah asked. I glanced behind my shoulder where Tyler used to be, but happened to disappear.
"I was waiting for y'all to wake your lazy butts up." I say, laughing quietly. "Are you guys up to leave now?"
"My head... is not even on my body anymore." Seth moans out.
"You shouldn't have drank that much, you know the drill. I have aspirin in my car." I tell him, hating seeing him in pain.
"Okay, can we go?" He asked.
"Yeah, just let me do one thing." I walk away from my friends and searched for Tyler. I had to search for him, since the house was too big for any normal family. I eventually found him in an office like room, clicking away at an expensive looking computer.
"Tyler?" I call. He looked up surprised, not expecting for any company.
"What?" He asked, irritated for a reason I couldn't explain.
"I was just coming to say goodbye. Thank you for letting Seth and Sarah to crash until they sober up. See you tomorrow?" I ask all in one breath.
"Sure." He waves his hand, in a dismissing manner. "Whatever."
"May I ask what's wrong?" I say, catching on his attitude.
"No, what you can do is leave me alone." He spoke loudly, but not enough for a yell. I walk closer, not thinking it all the way through.
"Whatever it is that you're mad at, doesn't mean you get to take it out me. I was trying to be nice and show you that I care, but I can see that isn't welcomed." I step forward, getting closer than what was probably necessary. "So I'm sorry that I asked, see you at school." I walk out, not looking back or listening when he called out my name.
I found my way back to Sarah and Seth, motioning for them to follow me out the door. They oblige, following my lead to the car. We get in, the same way we did last night. I look through the center console for the medication Seth is begging for.
I hand him two pills but chuck a water bottle his way. He gulps them down, resting his read on the back of his seat. I put the car in drive and head our way home.
Humming to the low volume of the radio, I pull in to a fast food place, knowing my friends are very, very hungry. McDonalds as always packed with people even at like five in the morning, we finally get through to tell our order to the worker.
We get our food, say thank you and finally make our way to my house. Knowing my parents won't be home for a couple day, no worry entered my brain. I make it in the house with no struggle, but can't be said the same to my friends. Sarah stumbles in her heals but Seth drags himself and crawls towards the big L shaped couch in my living room.
I help him into a laying position and grab a blanket, throwing it on him. Sarah goes up to my room, most likely finding a change of clothes more comfortable. She comes down a few minutes with a clean face and sweats gracing her body. She sat down in the corner, plugging her phone in on the outlet and started scrolling.
I go up stairs and take a shower, getting off the juck of the night. I put on warm p.j.s and walk down stairs with glasses on my face and a book in hand. I grab a few water bottles and find a spot on the couch.
I read a book for an assignment in English and plan in my head when I need to do other homework. Sunday flying by like it always does, filled with my friends leaving and doing homework.
I glance at my clock, reading the time as ten-thirty. I decided to try to sleep, begging for a nightmare not to come around.
