Tae's phone dinged. A text from Jungkook.
Kookie🙈:
"You ready ,hyung?"
TaeTae:
"Yeah, I'll be down in a few."Taehyung stood in the mirror, fixing his headband. He wanted to look as good as possible, even if this lunch wasn't an actual date. He knew all it was to Kookie was a normal lunch with his best friend, and that's what it would always be for him. All Taehyung would ever be to him. A best friend.
Taehyung shook the thought away as he walked into his room, nervously getting all of his things together.
"Hey, can I talk to you for a sec?" His roommate, Jimin, called.
"Oh-uh- yeah. Just make it quick, I'm going to lunch with Kook." Tae replied, suddenly getting uneasy wondering what Jimin wanted to talk about.
Taehyung sat next to him on the bed.
"Soooo..," Jimin started, "You know what, imma just spit it out. Is there something going on with you and Jungkook?."
Taehyung's eyes widened at the question.
"What do you mean by that?" Taehyung asked quite frantically.
"I mean... well. Are you two.. like... getting it? I mean- um- that was a poor choice of words ah- sorry. What I MEANT to say was, are you two, like, dating?" Jimin stuttered, knowing asking this question was a very awkward and sudden thing to do.
"No, uh- why would you think that? Haha..."
"It's just... the way you look at him, Tae. You stare at him like- like he's the most beautiful thing you've seen, like you want him. Just seems like you're more than just friends. Also, I can tell when you're lying so you best spit out the truth." Jimin teased.
"W- what do you mean, lying? And I don't stare at him..." Tae pouted.
"Tae, come on. You can tell me anything. Just spit it out already!" Jimin coaxed.
"It's...," Taehyung couldn't hold back his feelings anymore, he had to tell someone before he went crazy.
"Jimin... I think I'm in love with him. Recently, I've come to a conclusion on my feelings towards him." Tae's eyes started to tear up, "But, I mean, nothing will ever happen between us, you know? Cause he's straight... it'll never work out." A tear fell down his cheek.
Jimin tackled his friend in a tight hug.
"Taehyung... it'll be okay. I'm here for you, always. If you ever need to talk, please come to me." Jimin said, honestly not surprised at his friends love for Jungkook. He always thought that they seemed... well, couple-ish. They always not-so-discretely flirted with each other, but he guessed that Tae never really noticed Jungkook's flirtatious attitude towards him. Jimin smiled, wondering if he would be Tae's best man for their wedding ;). He knew they were a match made in heaven ever since the start, although he didn't mention any of his observations to Tae.
A knock on the door broke the silence in the room.
"Taehyunggggg you're taking forever and I'm HUNGRYYYY." Jungkook's voice boomed through the door.
Jimin smirked at Tae.
"A date, huh?" Jimin winked at Tae.
"Shut uppp." Taehyung playfully smacked his shoulder. He wiped the tears from his eyes, hoping they weren't puffy, so no one would notice his crying. "How do I look?" He asked Jimin.
"Like boyfriend material." Jimin winked once more.
"Ugh." Tae scoffed as he opened the door to a startled Jungkook.
"Freaking finALLY. Hurry, let's go, I'm STARVING." The younger rushed him.
Tae smiled. Jungkook was so cute when he whined.
The only thing in the world he wanted was Jungkook. To be more than friends. Taehyung has fallen hopelessly in love and he wasn't getting up anytime soon.
