An Unexpected Meeting

The wind is cold as you walk down the streets of Sherburne. Your name is (Y/N) and you have just been to the local Stewart's shop to buy milk and eggs for your mom. You and she live together with your little brother, Jonathan. Your mom had filed for a divorce from your dad about four years ago. Apparently, she hadn't agreed with him on some important matter of consequence and they had decided to leave each other. Since you turned fifteen, your mom has sent you out on a lot more errands than your usual daily routine. You are a homosexual and your mom is religious, as is your brother. You still haven't told them about it and are not sure how your mom, especially, will react. As you think of these things, your cell phone buzzes and you take it out of your back pocket. It's your mom and the name given to her caller ID is, "And here we go". It's stupid, you know, but seeing as how no one is ever going to see it, who cares? You press "accept" and say, "Yeah?"
"One hell of a way to answer the phone," replies your mom, "Since you're out, could you run over to the library and pick up a book that's coming in? It's called 'The Lonesome Gods' by Louis Lamour. Thank you and don't be late; I've got supper on the stove. Alright, bye."
She hangs up before you are able to reply at all. Sighing, you slip the phone back into your back pocket and set off for the library at the next intersection. Although the wind is cold, the setting sun is shining through some shafts in the grey clouds. A pretty sight for being halfway through October. You hold onto the bags of groceries with one hand and put the other in your grey Adidas jacket pocket. This jacket was given to you for Christmas by your Grandpa last year. You love it for it is the only expensive thing you own in your five room apartment. As you round the corner of the block you're on, you suddenly bump into someone and drop your bags.
"Oh! Sorry!" Says a surprised but deep voice. You scramble to pick up the eggs which have fallen out of their case before they roll out into the road.
"Allow me to help," says the voice from behind you. You finish gathering the eggs and put them back into the case. Turning to face the person you bumped into, you stop for a moment and stare. Before you is a tall, furry, and muscular goat man with a blonde beard and hair. He wears a large faded pink sweater and some blue jeans with no shoes on his big animal feet. He hands you the other bag you were carrying and you take it saying, "Uh, thank you, sir. Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going."
The goat man chuckles. "No harm done," he says in a deep and kind voice. He extends his hand for a shake and you accept it.
"The name's Asgore, lately the owner of the new flower shop over on Church Street."
"Yeah, I've passed by a couple of times," you reply taking your hand back from his warm paw, "Not to be rude, sir, but I had no idea it was run by...well, a monster."
Asgore nods and says, "Well, I must be off. I've got to open shop. It was nice to meet you, mister...?"
"Oh, (Y/N)!" You answer a bit ashamed of not already telling him your name, "My name is (Y/N)."
"Mister (Y/N)," Asgore echoes, "well, if you ever have time, stop on by the shop. I'll be glad to meet you again."
He waves and walks down the sidewalk as you wave back and return to your business. As you walk, you think of how warm his paw was, holding your hand in a firm handshake. His voice, deep and resonant, but kind and calm. You almost forget what to do as you almost pass the library. Asgore is pretty handsome, to say the least. But many hot guys always walk by you on the sidewalk. You try to just forget it and move on like you do with other men. But he personally invited you to the flower shop. Maybe you'll go. Maybe.
