Demi rushed through the airport, straight into her mothers awaiting arms.

"Mumma! I've missed you!" She squealed, acting like a little kid again.

"I've missed you too, baby!" Diana chuckled, clutching into her middle daughter. "But where's Kessie? Demi, you didn't leave her home alone did you! How irresponsible!"

"No, Mum, she's in the car! Geez, don't you trust me?" Demi cried, exasperated.

"As far as I can throw you, baby gitl. As far as I can throw you," Diana replied with a laugh. "Now come on, I want to see her! It's been so long!"

"Wait, Mumma, I've got to warn you about Kesha..." Demi said, holding her mother back.

"Kesha?" Diana repeated. "As in, Kessie? Our Kessie?"

"That's just it, Mum, she isn't our Kessie anymore. She's their Kesha," Demi explained.

"Well who's they?" Diana asked, feeling a little confused.

"Her friends," Demi said. "Her friends are her family now, not us. She's not the same anymore..."

"Baby, what did you expect? We haven't been around for most of her life," Diana soothed.

Demi lent against Diana as they walked back towards Monica's car.

"But she remembers," Demi sighed. "She remembers everything..."

Demi didn't go into detail about what Kesha remembered, knowing that it was private to Kesha.

"Hello, you must be Mrs Lovato! It's so nice to meet you," Monica gushed.

She had got out of the car to greet Demi's mum.

"Actually it's Mrs DeLaGarza," Diana corrected. "I'm divorced."

Demi had seen her mum wince at being called 'Mrs Lovato' and felt a surge of anger towards her father.

"Let it go, Demi. He's dead, he's gone! It's over!" She thought to herself firmly.

"Oh, is that my little Kessie asleep in there?" Diana cooed, peering in at the sleeping Kesha. "I'll just wake her up gently to say hi!"

"No, Mum, don't!" Demi cried, but it was too late.

Diana had already opened the car door and was leaning across the seats to gently shake Kesha.

It certainly worked. Kesha awoke with a start, caught one look at her aunt and immediately began screaming.

Diana flinched at the noise, climbing out of the car.

"I think we'd better leave," Monica said and got in. "People will think I'm kidnapping her!"

Demi rushed passed her mum and climbed into the seat beside Kesha, making her mum sit at the front.

"Shhh, baby girl. Stop crying, you're alright!" Demi begged, desperately trying to sooth Kesha.

"What is she doing here?" Kesha demanded, pointing at Diana.

"Helping you! Watch your manners!" Diana retorted, feeling hurt by Kesha.

"I DON'T WANT YOU! YOU LEFT ME! YOU LEFT ME WITH THEM!" Kesha screamed, kicking and hitting to get away from Demi.

"Them?" Demi asked, holding her cousin down.

"MY PARENTS! SHE'S AN ADULT, SHE COULD HAVE FIXED IT! I KNOW SHE COULD HAVE!" Kesha sobbed, clutching Demi.

Demi made soothing sounds to Kesha, rocking her until her screams were just sobs.

"She could have fixed it," Kesha whispered. "She could have done something, if she really cared..."

"Baby girl, I care. I've always cared," Diana said. Worry filled her face as she looked at her niece.

"Please, just go away..." Kesha replied simply.

"Darling, she's going to be staying with me as well as you and Demi. I'm sorry," Monica explained.

"Can't I stay with Sammie?" Kesha sighed, still clutching onto Demi.

"None of you can, it's too close you your house." Monica replied apologetically.

"We'll be going there tomorrow," Demi told Diana. "Then you can fix everything."

"You're Demi's plan? You're what this is all resting on?" Kesha cried, scowling at her aunt. "I'm doomed..."

"You are so over dramatic," Demi sighed. "Just trust me, okay?"

"In your dreams, Lovato..." Kesha mumbled.

"What? But we were getting on so well! What happened?" Demi asked, tightening her grip on Kesha.

"Nothing, I still don't trust you. I never will," Kesha shrugged.

She still stayed cuddled into Demi, needing to for comfort.

"Don't take it personally, Demi. She doesn't trust anyone," Monica explained.

Diana looked down at Kesha, who's eyes were now screwed shut.

"They did this to her," she whispered. "Her own parents have broken their own daughter. I'm going to kill them!"

Demi prayed that her mother didn't mean it literally, but it was hard to tell...

Once they were home, Kesha went straight to bed. But she didn't sleep.

She could remember how she used to love Diana. When Diana used to be around.

She remembered being sang to at night when she was scared.

"What happened?" Kesha whispered miserably to herself.

"I was thinking the same thing," Diana said.

Kesha's head snapped up to see Diana stood in the doorway, watching her.

She began backing away on the bed, scared that she couldn't escape.

"It's alright," Diana soothed. "I'm not going to hurt you... I just want to sit with you."

"I want Demi," Kesha mumbled.

It took her a second to realize what she had just said.

"No! I mean-" She stuttered fearfully.

"You're allowed to forgive Demi, you know. I don't know why you hate her and I don't know what you have been through, but I do know that she wants to help you. She cares about you a lot, Kessie. I promise," Diana said gently.

"It's...it's Kesha, Aunty Diana. I believe you," Kesha replied softly. "I really do, I just can't let go. Not yet. I don't know how..."

"Maybe Demi can help you with that," Diana suggested. "Maybe we all can. We all want to help you, Kesha. You just have to let us in."

Kesha nodded silently, looking down at her feet.

How was she supposed to open up to Demi if she couldn't trust her?
