I can't do this. I am not Abnegation, I never will be Abnegation.

I want something better. Something... more.

<Tobias POV>

I hate Abnegation. That's all there is to say. Everything about their lifestyle is unlike me. I want life, excitement. Not simplicity and routine. I stayed simply because I didn't know where else to go.

I am trapped here.

Mr. Eaton?" I step into the Abnegation headquarters, where I've been called for a quick meeting.

"Yes, sir." I bow my head to him before sitting down.

"I was wondering if you would be interested in a temporary career opportunity?"

No. Actually I wouldn't. But I can't say that. "Of course. What would it consist of?"

"Well," he looks relieved I accepted. "Initiation has started, as you know, and we did not expect this many initiates. Therefore, we did not hire enough instructors. All you would be responsible for would be overseeing their service. Does that sound alright?"

I force a smile. "Of course. Thank you for this opportunity."

I start down the street toward my home. After initiation, I haven't seen Marcus much. It's a good feeling. I turn the corner on the cracked sidewalk, and run straight into a small girl. She's thin, and has golden hair. And her eyes.

<Beatrice POV>

I run right into a stranger. A tall stranger with a hooked nose and tan skin. And his eyes.

<Tobias POV>

I snap out of my daze.

"I'm so sorry. Are you alright?"

"Yeah," she clears her throat. "Er, yes."

"Good." I bow my head and head the opposite way, thinking I was saying goodbye to this stranger forever.

I couldn't have been more wrong.
