<Beatrice POV>
I am selfless.
The Abnegation clap politely, and I go sit back by my parents. They smile at me, obviously glowing with pride.
One of their children isn't a traitor.
I look at Caleb, his gray clothes standing out among the Erudite blue. He shows no emotion; no joy, no nerves, no sadness.
I don't get it.

The Abnegation march politely down the stairs, not talking. What lay beyond the choosing ceremony never crossed my mind. What's in store for me during initiation?
I guess we'll see.

"Welcome to Abnegation." says an elderly man. "I am James. I will be your initiation instructor. Abnegation initiation consists of 30 hours of community service. Ladies will be staying in the building to my right, gentlemen to my left. Meet here tomorrow at 10:00. Have a nice night."
"You too." I mutter and follow the girls to our building.
"Hi." the short blonde next to me whispers.
"Hello."
"I'm Leila. Amity. You are?"
"Um, Beatrice. Abnegation born."
"Oh." she giggles. "So you know what it's like here. I'm really nervous, actually, but I didn't fit in there, and-"
"First tip. Don't talk about yourself. It's selfish." I clear my throat. I'm teaching someone how to be selfless, when I only picked Abnegation to stay with my family.
"Okay, thanks. Well, have a nice night."
"You as well."
Polite conversation and baggy clothes. The rest of my life awaits.
