Meeting the Lovers

It all began with a friendship and little more. What was fun and games soon would be more if only she would open up the door.

Wonderlust -  She had a wild, wandering soul but when she loved, she loved with chaos and that made all the difference.

"I'm nervous" Claudia said to Leon after getting into the passenger seat of the silver Honda. As Leon got into the driver side he said "There is nothing to worry about she will like you! I'm sure. Don't worry so much." He turns on the car and the radio begins to play almost as if background music. Clauida nods and turns her head to the window. Pressing down the button the warm summer breezes begins to blow around the car. Thankfully Claudia's thick dark chocolate brown hair is in it's usual bun, or it would have been flying everywhere as they speed through the back roads. Claudia looked back to her boyfriend. Leon was a tall malino man with short black hair and short black goatee beard. He quickly glanced back over at her smiling into her hazel eyes with his deep and energetic brown ones. He then dropped his hand to her bare leg giving it a playful squeeze. She shifted and smiled moving her hand to hold his. Lacing her fingers to inner twine with his, she looked back at the window with a feeling of excitement and terror.

Leon and Claudia had been seeing each other for only a few weeks but Leon insisted that she meet Haley. Haley had been his long time friend and she would decide whether or not their relationship would work out. Leon told Claudia Haley could be brutally honest and had no filter, which suited Claudia just fine but she knew this was no passing visit. He was vetting her seeing if she could really handle herself and if she was truly worth his time. It was only fair he had been a hate women strike refusing to date and she was recently engaged to another; her high school sweetheart no less. They had broken up shortly after Leon and Claudia had met. Claudia found out her exfincee had been cheating on her. So she left him to explore the growing passion and maybe even love she felt for Leon.

Claudia was drifting in her own head with thoughts bubbling around when Leon says excitedly "We are almost there." He pulled into the ranch style apartments as Claudia stared in wonder. Please like me or at least put up with me. I think this man already owns my heart.

Leon exited the car and moved around to the hood of the car to grab Claudia's hand. "Come on baby let's go," the excitement laced in his voice. They walked under the tree towards the door. Haley was immediately there. She had long hair in a pony tail adorable glasses. She was causally dressed in shorts and t shirt. Claudia suddenly felt she maybe had over dressed in her flowing spaghetti strap top and short black bottoms. Leon was in his usual cargo shorts snd Bob Marley T-shirt.  Leon squeezes Clauidas hand letting go to embrace Haley in a big hug. Claudia giggled a little know full well Haley was his best friend and she was clearly protective of him. Claudia begin to think back to her best guy friend Talon he was the same way. As Haley released Leon she turned her attention to Claudia. Leon made quick introductions. As Haley turned to Claudia with such a huge hello it nearly startled Claudia. It was such a bellowing hello she was not expecting it out of the smaller framed female. A soft hello escaped Claudia's lipands she was quickly embrace by Haley in a warm hug. Claudia's fears began to melt away as she step out of the hug to smile at Haley and give Leon a quick glance and small smirk.
"Come in come in" said Haley in polite yet demanded manner. "So how did you meet? Tell me all about it."
As they settled in Leon was the first to respond saying they had met through their matutal friend Casey. Casey had been working with Claudia at a nursing home together when she had Leon come over before work one day. Then Leon and Claudia met and the rest was history. Haley was delighted to hear that this new girl was fast friends with Casey. Haley considered, maybe this girl is worth a little time. Haley was looking back and forth between the new love birds. She giggled to herself and pulled out her box of goodies.

Claudia paused mid smile at the thought of how they met on the porch at Casey's house. This handsome man had only just got out of the vehicle when she spotted him. His hair was longer and and full beard but she found him beautiful. Her thoughts paused as she looked to see Haley pulling out a beautiful blue pipe. Haley inclined her head to Claudia "Do you smoke?"
Claudia had to fight to hold in the assumed giggle "but of course."
Haley quickly packed the bowl to the brim with some lovely green flowers that damn near sparkled in the sun coming from the window. They continue to talk and smoke until Leon made to stand and the couple took their leave.

Claudia looked back out the window as they drove home excited to Haley another time. There was something about her relaxed demeanor and easy laugh that put Claudia at ease and made her feel giggly and warm.
