After Olivia's first day, things began to move pretty quickly for her. And before she knew it, two months had passed.
She had became close friends with Liz and Betty, helping them set up the Homecoming dance that was now only a few weeks away. Michelle became one of those friend that you could sit in comfortable silence with, which Olivia enjoyed very much. She had also learned that Flash was one to pick on other kids, and every time Olivia caught him doing it, she would tell him to knock it off. Ned was the one to now always make her laugh.
And then there was Peter. He and Olivia had grown very close in the two months that had passed. Working on projects together, helping Peter sneak back in the house whenever he went on his patrols at night, and eating dinner with him and his aunt.
May was an amazing woman with long auburn hair, beautiful brown eyes, and a loving personality that Olivia always adored. In fact, she was pretty much perfect, except for the fact that she can't cook.
Olivia also became close with her Decathlon team. She really started to enjoy her school life, and she even joined more clubs. Olivia had joined the Art Club to show off her painting skills, and she had joined the Yearbook Club for her love of pictures.
The girl had also started to go to hardcore selfdefense classes. Olivia wanted to learn how to properly fight and defend herself, just in case there was ever another mission that she would get called on. She also went to gymnastics and dance classes, which helped her to become flexible, more aware, and balanced. She decided that if she was going to have powers, then she was going to be at the top of her game.
Olivia was enjoying her new life. She felt happy and content with the life that she was living now. Except for that tiny aching feeling she would get whenever her heart would start to race when she was around Peter.
That feeling was weird for her. She couldn't figure out exactly what it meant. Peter was her best friend, but for some reason there was something pulling at her heart. Maybe it was longing, maybe it was worry for him, but she had no idea what it was.
"Hello. Earth to Olivia," Betty spoke out, waving a hand in her face.
Olivia snapped herself out of her thoughts and looked up at the girl, "What?"
They were sitting in the library. All three girls had been there for an hour, and school was going to be starting in ten minutes. The reason why they were so early was because they wanted to get in some planning time for the dance.
"Did you hear what Liz asked you?" Betty asked, crossing her arms. Olivia shook her head in response and Betty let out a laugh, "Yeah, because you have been day dreaming. Is there something you're not telling us?"
The girl didn't answer as she looked back down at her drawing, and she realized that she had been drawing tiny spiders.
"Oh my God! There is something!" Liz shrieked, a huge smile growing on her face.
"It's nothing!" Olivia responded, giving the girl a look.
Betty let out a laugh, "Is it a boy?"
Olivia paused for a second and looked at both girls, debating on whether or not she should tell them. But then she decided that she would just leave out names. After all Liz was Peter's crush, and Olivia didn't want to give that away because of a feeling she didn't understand.
"Maybe," she answered, feeling the heat rise to her face.
"Oh, now you have to tell us," Liz informed taking a seat next to Olivia.
The girl let out a sigh, "Okay, fine. There may or may not be this boy. And we are really good friends, but I think he likes someone else. But, every time I'm with him my heart starts beating really fast and I don't know what that means."
"Honey," Liz spoke, "It sounds like you have a crush."
"No, no. It can't be that. I haven't known him that long," Olivia objected, feeling her face heat up.
Betty gave a laugh, "Olivia you can't choose who you have feelings for, and you can't choose the circumstances."
Olivia sat back in her chair as she looked at the two girl in front of her. She couldn't believe what was happening. Did she really have feelings for Peter, or was it just her being crazy. And besides Olivia had all of her doubts.
"Even if I did like this guy, there is no way in the world he would like me back. Especially if I'm going up against the girl he likes," Olivia stated, a flash of sadness coming across her face as she looked at Liz.
Liz was the perfect girl, and Olivia felt there was no way she could ever compete with her. In her eyes, Olivia thought Peter deserved someone better than her. Someone who didn't used to live on the streets.
"You won't know until you try," Betty stated, placing a hand on her shoulder.
The bell then rang out, signaling that the three girls needed to get to class. So, they all stood up as Liz started to change the subject. Going back into the topic of Homecoming.
She discussed with Olivia about her taking pictures at the dance, and of course the girl agreed. Olivia was deep in the conversation, up until the moment she looked down a hallway they were passing.
Peter was standing there with Ned, the two must have been talking about something important. But once Peter saw Olivia he stopped in his tracks.
Time seemed to slow down as Olivia looked into his eyes. He was so far away, but yet her heart was racing as if he was standing right next to her. And in that moment Olivia knew that she was in trouble with her feelings. Because there was now a major possibility that she was going to be hurt by her best friend.
