The Lake

There were birds chirping, the sun saying its final goodbyes to the sky. Left behind was a trail of pinks, purples, and blues. The wind cascading around late night strollers, smothering the sweet smell of nature into their nostrils. Trees rustling, competing with each other, analyzing who sways the best...

It was all just sickening.

Watching the ripples in the Alice Lake was a young male. At first glance, you'll think the boy was just admiring the view of the precious lake, eyes glistening because of its beauty. Nope. Not at all. Those tears were from agony because of the boy's terrible fate. Lets describe this human shall we?. Lets see here, there is midnight black hair...onyx eyes...pale,creamy skin...lean, but almost muscular body. Weird. Anyway...the most peculiar thing was the boy's..hairstyle. Hmmm..duck-butt. Retro.

Laughter was heard then. Not the kind of emotions said boy wanted to hear at that moment. He glanced up to see a family walking towards him. He recognized the family immediately. His targets.

A faint whisper was heard at the moment.

"Sasssuukkeee...", the whisper hissed.

So, now Sasuke flinched at the whisper, knowing exactly who the whisper belonged to.

"Alice, not now", Sasuke whispered to himself.

"Sasssuukkeee...it'sss timeeee" Alice whispered sternly.

Sasuke stiffened, knowing exactly what is was time to do. He has stalled long enough and his targets were assigned to die for over a week now. He sighed, sitting up from his slouching position to take another glance at his targets. His automatically wished he didn't.

That boy was with them. The same boy who haunted his dreams at night. His dreams turning from death and destruction to bright smiles and hugging. Gross. He glanced up a third time to see said boy staring back at him. He mentally cursed. Stupid idiot decided to use Sasuke's only weakness. His eyes. Those piercing blue eyes that froze and melted your heart and soul just by looking into them.

"Saaassssuukkkeee..stop ittt..loookk awwaayy..." Alice whispered in urgency.

With teeth bared, Sasuke whispered back with more force than needed,"What the hell you think I'm trying to do?".. Sasuke looked back into the lake to stare down in the middle of the entire lake. That spot if you may. That spot holds the reason why Sasuke's life turned into a living hell.

Knowingly, Alice whispered, "It's your fault you know.." "You killed me Sasuke" "Admit it and you can live in peace"

Sasuke narrowed his eyes knowing the truth behind Alice's words. Her lies that lifts his heart a little then makes it plummet down in the abyss of his dark soul. He knew his life would never be normal again. That debt of his mistake has to be paid first. It wasn't all his fault though. Alice was in the wrong place, at the wrong time. How did Sasuke know he would Change at that moment? He didn't.

*FLASHBACK*

"You will never destroy this lake so help me God!!!" Alice screamed to the construction workers slowing losing their patience.

"Doll, just move and find a new lake!!! Don't you want a new mall?! Shoes..purses..new clothes to get you out of whatever the hell you have on?!!!" The irritant worker tried to compromise.

Alice narrowed her eyes at the sly comment. She looked down at her tattered, black yoga pants, beat up red, gray, and black Converse and silver and violet shawl that covered her still glowing Sapphire amulet that was bursting with energy. The lake was the only thing keeping her power in check and she needed it to stay.
