When I first saw him, I was in the 'white sheet ally' where rarely any cars pass. I was with Jason, Abby, and Jason's little sister Lisa, who is the only one I actually tolerate.

I was a magnet for trouble. I known that since I was six when everything change. I hate thinking about it. It wasn't because I didn't want to face the guilt, it's that I didn't want to face the guilt I knew I wouldn't have. That was the start of my positive energy connecting to the bad, like a magnet. It wouldn't belong until we become one.

Here I am, hanging with Abby and Jason, bringing Lisa along, and watching them smoke weed. I didn't really want to come but still I came, not wanting to see Dad's eyes as he look at me, knowing everything was my fault.

Plus they asked me to come. They heard of all the trouble I've been in to. Telling me 'I'm one wild white chick'. I laughed at that part. If only they knew.

Now back to the subject at hand. When I first saw him he was driving down the ally. I was already curious since cars never come by  so hearing one pull up, I turned around.

It was a nice car. Like a Mercedes or maybe something else. Well anyway, it was nice. I never seen it on this sound of town before. Not everyone can afford nice cars.

I had to squint to see who it was as the person got out the car because of the sun. I could tell it was male, the way the person held himself. I was able to see him more clearly as he walk towards us. Towards us!

"Abby!" I hissed. "Put that stuff up!"

Looking up quickly to see what I was talking about, she saw him. She grabbed the blunt out of Jason's hand and stuff it in her pocket.

"What the hell, Abby." He said, his eyes all ready glazed over and red.

By that time, I was able to see the male's features. He was tall, and lean, and by the way his arms look as he waved in our direction, was well built.

"Who is that?" I asked. Maybe he was one of Jason's buyers.

It was Abby who answered, sort of." I don't know. I never seen him before"

Lisa was quiet, standing off to the side, probably still upset that I brought her with me. So was Jason, answering my silent question.

Jason walked over to the brick wall and slide down, sitting on his butt. He glared at the newcomer for interrupting.

As he stop in front of us, I notice how attractive he was. Tall, black messy hair, as though he ran his hand through it frequently. What really had me was his eyes. A startling black. Mexican.

I looked away before he sees me looking.

He first notice Lisa, because she was standing away from us.

"Excuse me?" His American accent was flawless, me second guessing myself if he was really Mexican.

Lisa looked up. Her whole face turned red once she realize he was talking to her.

"Can you help me? I just moved here and I left to go to the hard ware, but now it seems that I can't find my way back home."

Lisa, still looking at him in shock, stuttered,"Umm, the.... it's ... where are you? I mean, where do you live?"

It looks like he knew he was scaring her. I was about to speak up to save her when he answered" On Jackson. 1211th street."

I pause. The only place on that street besides my house was the abandoned Linx. Before Lisa could answer, Abby spoke up, a little loudly.

"Hey Alex, isn't that where you live?"

The newcomer turned to us, calmly for a person who acts like he didn't know we was here.

Lisa realize she was out the spotlight and calm down. I could almost hear her let go of the air she's been holding in.

It was about time for me to go home anyway.

"Yeah, I'll be able to take you. I heading home now."

He smile one of those smiles that only belonged in a magazine.

"Thank you," He held out his hand,"I'm Lomar."

I looked at his hand, which looks like he had been hard at work at some thing because of the black marks on it."Alex." I told him not taking his hand.

He realize I wasn't taking it and took his hand back. "Sorry, I've been working."

I nodded. Then he said," I can follow your car, if that's all right."

I had already started walking in the street, completely forgetting that he came with a car."Oh! I don't have a car,"

"That's all right, we can just ride in my car, give me the directions,"

I know I shouldn't just hope in a stranger's car, and thinking about my Dad's face when he see me pulled up, I was hesitant.

Lomar noticed, confusing clouding his perfect face."I won't do anything, if that's what you are thinking."

Embarrassed because that was exactly what I was thinking I looked down. "No of coarse not."

I followed him to his car.

"Alex!," I looked behind me at Jason."Can you take Lisa home?,"

I was going to say sure when I saw the freight back in Lisa's eyes, pleading me to say no.

"You take her home,"I told him.

"I have things to do."

Abby spoke up." It's okay I'll take her. Jason can't drive no way."

I can't believe that had slipped my mind. I almost sent Lisa home with somebody unstable.

Honk!

Surprised at the sudden noise, I notice Lomar already behind the wheel. I scowl at him. Did he just honked?  To answer my question another honk ripped through the air.

Abby laughed. "You better go head and go, he's an impatient fellow."

Jason laughed "You talked like you old,"

I heard the pop as Abby slapped him in the head.

I walked over to Lomar 's car to the passenger side, the door already open.

Before I got in, I leaned over so I could look at him.

"Now before I get in, let me let you in on a little secret. Honk that damn horn again, I'll break your fingers and stick them up your ass."
