Working with Thomas may sound like a disaster but when he's really into something and determined about it he's the best partner you can count on. Solely, for this reason, I did not argue with Paige when he put me and him in the same team. I am still counting on his determination so that he doesn't mess up this time just like how he had banged Rick's head while abducting him.
We all Elites along with Rick are in the back of a U haul with our eyes glue to the screen of the laptop which is connected to the Biointel's security cameras. Liam is working his way to crack inside their security codes and change the screens as per our adjustments.
After a few clicks on his pad, he sighs excitedly. "Done."
I shift my gaze back to the screen it looks just like before. The guards standing stiffly in front of doors, guarding them. When we'll enter the rooms the cameras won't be able to detect us and will show everything pre-recorded. Satisfied with his work I finally put the question I had in my mind since we enter in this van.
"Why U haul?"
"Brings less suspicion," Liam answer me.
"A simple van wouldn't have caused any problem either."
"A substantial agreement."
I raise my eyebrow at him in question.
"Thomas' idea."
I see Thomas grinning from the corner of my eye. That explains.
Liam rumble through his duffle bag and hands Thomas and I a shrim. It's for an emergency exit. Our original plan is swift and thorough but Liam's suggestion is to consider every possibility. I think I can work with extra caution.
He then removes a palm size hologram projector and keeps it between us. A slight push to the bottom button and a 3D projection of the whole map rise up from it. Green lights emanating from it form the whole building structure with underground tunnels.
"When Licy will reach the doors," he points towards the vertical door on the map with a laser pen. "Thomas, you will wait till she gets access to it. Just as she opens the door, you'll pass through it with her. Ivy will wait in the underground tunnel. Just as you two see him you'll put the shrim on him and make an exit from there. Got it? No turning back or extra works. The rest will go with the plan. Any doubts?"
"How will Licy go through the door?"
"Felicity." I correct Ivy with my glare. My suspicion with her is not going to die without sifting through everything myself. If she's not with our motto, she can find her way back to her deviant days.
"Uh...Felicity," she corrects herself. "How will you get through the door?"
"Gerald will help us in this."
Rick cough from beside me. "And Rick."***
I fix the microphone under Rick's collar, perfectly to hide it from anyone's view.
"Hand." Liam holds a tracker injector in one hand and holds out the other for Rick. When Rick pushes his hand forward Liam injects the tracker in his forearm.
"This will keep us inform of your location."
He just nods in reply. Ever since he left my room he hasn't talked to anyone. I usually prefer silence but this time it's not just a peaceful silence, it's silence with deep meaning and not just snippets of consequences. He's still accepting a complete fiasco.
"Liam, go check if Ivy's ready."
He nods and walks away. Thomas is out grabbing something to eat and without Liam and Ivy in sight, this is my only chance to talk to him.
"Just to let you know, we aren't planning on letting you get killed in this," I whisper.
"Remember your promise for Becca."
I groan. "You're not going to die. You'll have me and Ivy around and we've even injected the tracker on you. They aren't stupid enough to try anything on you. Just go with the plan and leave the rest to us. After everything is done you can walk away free, untarnished from both the corporations. You keep your promise and we'll keep ours."
Without waiting for his answer I call Ivy. It's an insult for us if he thinks we can't manage to take care of those handful of people. We're made for this. Our existence revolves around it.
Just when we are about to revise our plan Rick's phone buzz. He takes it out of his pocket to check and then looks at me.
"It's him."
"Pick it up."
He slides on his screens and picks it up. Before I can even tell him to keep the phone on loudspeaker he sighs and put it back in his pocket.
"He's reaching the café in 5 minutes. Says if I want a deal with him, I better not think of keeping him waiting."
"Where's Thomas?"
As if on cue for Liam's question, my phone buzz. It's Thomas's message.
"He's already there."
It's time. Gerald wants Rick and we want Gerald. Just an hour's work and then Rick and his Rebecca are out of my life for good.

I was going to add the plan in this chapter itself but then it would've been like a little big chapter and I don't think I'm ready to serve a big chapter yet😅
