"what? you want me to babysit you or something?" jimin asked. jungkook immediately pouted at the older's response.

jimin's brows furrowed after seeing the younger's gesture. he spotted jungkook's bag in the corner and immediately went to it.

"no! those are my things!" jungkook tried his best to reach for his bag but jimin was quick.

the older opened jungkook's bag and saw a bunch of clothes. no lunch box, no water bottle, no sign of things that can convince jimin that the boy went for a fieldtrip here in seoul. jungkook became nervous. he bit his lower lip when he saw that jimin looked confused after seeing his belongings.

"you ran away, didn't you?" jimin asked. he then placed jungkook's bag on the couch.

jungkook couldn't mutter a single word when jimin asked him that. he looked down on the floor and bit his lower lip. there's no turning back now, he's definitely caught this time.

"well... yes, i ran away," jungkook said in a small voice. "a-and thank you for offering me your place. even if..." jungkook gulped.

"even if what?" jimin arched his brow.

"e-even if my first impression to you wasn't that good and we met on an unpleasant time," the younger didn't have the courage to look at jimin who's hands are currently on his hips. the view kinda looks like an angry father who is about to scold his son.

jungkook's world almost stopped spinning when jimin tried to lift his chin up so he can see his face clearly. they both stared at each other for a while. jimin only sees pain and fear on jungkook's eyes.

"i won't ask more questions about why you ran away. if that's because of family stuff then i should understand," jimin said, which made the younger boy's heart flutter. he then cleared his throat after realizing that he did that kind of gesture. "i'm allowing you to stay here, but promise me you won't screw things up. you know my job, if someone finds out about this, i'll be in danger. and because you're here now, you'll probably in danger too because i dragged you here,"

jungkook nodded his head after that. he couldn't help but smile. jimin really does have a soft spot in his heart. he doesn't seem to look like the other criminals.

both of them sorted out some house rules. after jungkook whined about house chores (because jimin doesn't look like he wanted to do house chores), he also whined about jimin's policy of not leaving the apartment.

"oh come on! i should go grocery shopping or just take a walk in the park sometimes!"

jimin breathed out heavily. "yah! you act as if you literally move in here at my place. let me remind you that i'm just allowing you to stay here for just a couple of weeks, not actually moving in," it's already nighttime, and both of them just ate dinner. luckily, jimin found two instant noodles for the both of them to eat.

"and don't fuss about the groceries. most of the time seokjin hyung takes care of it and they drop it off here weekly," jimin added.

the next day, jungkook was bored as hell after jimin left for his work. he doesn't know if his work this time includes killing people or he's just have to meet with people with his drug dealing business. he's still thankful, after all, that he's safe in this overly secured place and jimin doesn't treat him like he's about to see heaven in just hours.

while he's cleaning the apartment, he noticed that jimin's room was left unlocked. out of curiosity, he opened it. his nose was quickly attacked by the mixed smell of cigarette, alcohol, and weed.

"whoah," jungkook almost dropped his jaw when his eyes wandered at the wall on the right side of his room.

newspapers. all glued up in the wall. not just random newspapers. the headlines were purposely cut out.

'2 dead after being shot in bangkok. both were assumed to be drug users.'

'ceo of a famous clothing line found dead in his hotel room, autopsy says he's on drugs.'

'teenager killed in daegu. suspect not yet known.'

jungkook gasped after seeing the headlines on jimin's wall. he couldn't mutter a word. it's about more or less fifty newspaper headlines.

"did he killed all these people?" jungkook whispered.

"yes,"

jungkook almost jumped when he heard a voice from his back. "y-you scared me!" he said, looking at jimin, who is now staring at him with dark eyes.

"what are you doing here in my room?" he's breathing heavily.

"u-uhm, i didn't mean to sneak in. the door's open and i got curious," jungkook bit his lip out of nervousness.

both of them became silent. jungkook was still processing what jimin said earlier.

jimin hid his hands on his pockets and walked in closer. he also stared at the newspapers in front of them.

"just so you know, i kill people because i have a reason," he said, not looking at the younger. "and i sell drugs for a living,"

"w-what reason?"

jimin looked at him. jungkook's eyes still screams fear and totally forgot how comfortable he was earlier and last night.

the older sighed. "i have to protect our group's identity. if we find out that someone exposes our information and if someone tries to tell the police about it, i kill them in an instant. even if it's the out of the country or not, i don't fucking care,"

jungkook gulped on what he heard. he watched jimin as he lit up his cigarette. he instantly covered his nose because of the unpleasant smell.

"want one?" jimin offered a pack of cigarettes. jungkook swiftly shook his head multiple times, that made jimin chuckle.

he hid the pack again and puffed smoke. "oh, right. i forgot that you're still a kid,"

jungkook's brows furrowed. "hey! i'm not a kid,"

jimin took out his cigarette and put it on an ashtray. he crossed his arms and faced the younger, like he's a father scolding his son. it looks a bit awkward because the younger is taller than him.

"really? how old are you, kid?" jimin scoffed.

jungkook arched his brow and imitated the older, crossing his arms too and lifted his chin up with confidence. "i'm eighteen! i'm an adult already!"

jimin tried his best to hide his laughter but he couldn't. the adorable bunny-looking boy right in front of him is confident that he's already on the right age, but he doesn't look like it. even on the first time he saw him, he's wearing his high school uniform with name tag. and he whines all the time. that doesn't make him an adult.

"yeah, whatever, kid." jimin shook his head in amazement and looked away.

"i told you i'm not a kid—"

jungkook gulped. both of them were staring at each other's eyes in an awkward position. jimin is holding the younger's wrist while both of them were close to each other.

jungkook was supposed to punch jimin but he was stopped because of the older's fast reflex. right now, their breathing became heavier than before and both were lost in each other's eyes.

"why is he looking at me like this?" that's what's running around jungkook's mind.

but on the other side, jimin's heart started pounding rapidly, again. he's nervous. he doesn't even know why. is it because of jungkook? is it because of this young boy who is starting to give him chills down his spine?

he doesn't know.

jimin was about to say something when jungkook whispered to his ear, "make sure to brush your teeth, and mouthwash. you still smell like smoke, hyung."

the older was left there in his room, standing. jungkook giggled while making his way outside jimin's room.

"damn." jimin whispered before locking his door after jungkook went out.
