A Not So Warm Welcoming

Maybe I was slightly baffled by my sexuality, but who isn't? I knew for a fact I was into girls. Tomorrow was the dreaded first day of school and I definitely wasn't ready for the bag checks at the entrance, the jail fences splitting up the Ghoulies and Serpents, the drug dealing teachers, any of it. Well except the new vulnerable kid, you know, the one who isn't part of a gang, so they sit alone, and anyone makes fun of them, that's probably the best part of the whole school year. They usually get bullied out of the school, but if they don't, each gang tries their hardest to get them to join them. Anyone who joined the Serpents was guaranteed protection, of course.

First Day of School- I stand in line waiting for my bags to be checked, when I see a gorgeous raven haired girl rolling her deep brown eyes and putting her hands behind her head. The alarms on the security machine beeped. 'It's my earrings.' Attitude filled her voice as she dragged them out and slammed them onto the table next to her. 'Holy hell, who is that?!' I turned around to see Jughead Jones, his mouth gorped open. 'I don't know but damn, is she gorgeous. Wait is she this year's new girl?!' Jughead sighed and started taking his beanie off. 'I swear to God, no new person is that hot.' as we said that, the raven haired princess walked past us, she had obviously heard what we said. 'Apparently they are.' and with one flip of her hair, she was gone.

Like all new people, the raven haired girl sat alone at lunch. I took it upon myself to sit opposite her. 'What could you possibly want?' she definitely wasn't pleased with my presence. 'I just thought i would look after such a beautiful girl on her first day at such a disgusting school, sorry princess. If you ever need protection you can always join the serpents.' for once, she looked interested in what I had to say. 'Oh really? Is that the gang over there?' she pointed to a group of people wearing black, leather jackets with a green snake wrapped around the words 'Southside Serpents'. 'Yeah that's it! If you wanna join, talk to the guy in the beanie, he's called Jughead.' she smiled at me, which felt good, having the schools new 'Head Bitch In Charge' not slap me was an achievement. 'Jug-head?' i loved the way the gorgeous new girl pronounced his name,' I'll be back in a second.' she stood up from the table and started walking towards the Ghoulies section of the cafeteria. Wait, why had she gone there?
