Zarah
I woke up and saw Jason still sleep. It was a Friday and I was grateful the week was over. I woke him up and went to get ready for work which was following Dallas all day. I woke Andre up to get ready. I went downstairs and just made me some cereal. I took my medicine as the boys walked into the kitchen.
"Morning Zarah." Andre said making him some coffee.
"Morning Dre. Morning Jason." He hugged me and got his bowl and cereal.
"You off-site today?" Andre asked as I got the camera.
"Yeah, unfortunately, I can't give this case to anybody else." I sighed.
"Just take it easy and relax. You only have to do it for a few days."
"Yeah, I know. I have to go. Jason hurry up." He drunk his milk and put the bowl in the dishwasher. "Andre start that before you leave." He nodded as Jason got his book bag.
"Bye Uncle Dre." Jason said as we walked out towards the garage.
We got in the car and pulled out. It was quiet as the radio played. I sang to the song Andaconda as we pulled into the school parking lot and Jason started laughing.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"Do you know what that song means?" I smacked my teeth.
"I sure do. Do you know what it means?" He laughed.
"I do."
"You know I'm not as old as you think and she stole that music from back in your grandparents day." We laughed. "Go ahead and I'll pick you up after practice." He smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Bye ma. I love you."
"I love you too sweetie." I saw some boys staring at the car as he got out and they whistled.
I shook my head and went to switch cars at the job before heading downtown towards the courthouse. I put on my wig and got out my camera waiting for him to get here. I sat there another ten minutes and finally saw him park. I began snapping pictures and saw him talking to some people. I got out and went inside showing them a badge to get me inside. I went up to his floor and knocked on his door. I moved to the side as he opened the door. I quickly took pictures as I walked passed. I've done this a million times so I know what I was doing.
Around three hours he finally came downstairs with this guy and they held some bags in their hands. I took pictures and then followed them as they drove somewhere. They drove for a while and then parked at a local restaurant next to a black Lambo with pink interior. I snapped pictures as a girl walked up to Dallas and the guy. Everybody had on shades and was really close. Dallas handed her the bag and she pulled out a wad of money and smiled. He then handed her a key. She smiled even harder. I had seen enough after she drove off in the Lambo. I headed back to my job and printed out all the pictures. While the last few printed I called Dallas.
"Hey, what's up." He answered.
"Hey, are you at the office?" I asked praying he was still there.
"Yeah, I just finished up a meeting. Everything ok?"
"I need to talk to you right now about something."
"I'll be here."
"Okay." I hung up and got all the pictures in the envelope that I was going to give his wife. I walked out the picture room and right into Emory.
"Hey Zarah, how are you feeling today?" I smiled.
"I'm doing ok. How are you?"
"Good now that I know you're ok." I looked away trying to not roll my eyes. "You headed somewhere?"
"Uh yeah, I um have to go back before I finish my day." He smiled.
"Ok well, I'll see you later." He winked and walked away. I shook my head and continued to my car. I parked when I got downtown and grabbed one of the envelopes. I went to the courthouse and up to his floor. I knocked on his door and some guy opened it. He was the same one from the pictures earlier.
"Hello." He smirked.
"Hi, is Dallas in here?" He was about to speak when Dallas spoke.
"Nate move and let her in." He moved and I walked in and stared at Dallas.
"Who is she?"
"She's a very close friend. What's going on?" I threw the envelope at him. I looked at his friend before returning my attention to him not really caring.
"Now before you open that, I have three things to say. One, I didn't want to do this in the first place seeing as though we have our situation. Two, you need to get her in check and assure her on some things. Three, what the hell do you two have going on? Now you may open the envelope." He stopped staring at me and opened the envelope and gasped when he saw the pictures.
"What is it Dallas?" The guy asked. Dallas handed him the pictures and looked at me. "Christy is having you followed? I wish Isabella would do some shit like that." The guy spoke sternly.
"I'm not giving her those pictures Dallas because I know you aren't cheating on her. I would like for you to tell me what you two have going on though." I took a seat and he sighed.
"I'm just helping out a friend." I scoffed.
"Dallas I already pulled her picture and all I have to do is send it through face recognition."
"What do you do?" The guy asked.
"What's your name?" I asked trying to see if Dallas has mentioned him before.
"Nathan."
"Does he not know?" I looked at Dallas.
"No, he knows nothing."
"Well, then I know nothing." I stood. "I will be sending her pictures of you getting in the car, your office, and when you left for lunch with Nathan. Make sure you remember that if she shows you the pictures. Call me later." He stood.
"Thanks so much Zarah." He hugged me.
"Yeah whatever I have to go get Jason." I let go and walked out.
Dallas
After Zarah walked out. Nathan stared a hole in my head. I shook my head and looked at the pictures again.
"What the hell is Christy doing and who was that?" He asked after a minute of silence.
"Apparently Christy is having me followed and I told you, she's a close friend." I put the pictures down and rubbed my face.
"Is Christy crazy? She knows you would never cheat on her." I sighed.
"Yes, she is crazy." He laughed.
"Well check that when you get home." He said standing.
"I will."
"Thanks for your help today too."
"No problem." He left and I began getting my stuff so I could home and deal with Christy. I was closing my briefcase when my personal phone rang. I saw Zarah's name and answered.
"Hey."
"I just dropped off the other pictures." She said and hung up. I sighed and began walking out the building.
I headed home with this on my mind. I couldn't believe Christy. I have never made her think I was cheating so why would she even do this? I pulled into the driveway twenty minutes later and parked. I sighed and got out. I was going to wait for her to tell me she had me followed. She never keeps things to herself so she will say something.
