“Okay, Bye Dad.” sabay baba ni Je sa phone nito.

“Now, can you tell me what’s that mess all about Je?” tanong ni Loraine dito matapos nilang makatakas sa mga hinayupak na gangster na ‘yon. Madaling araw na, kasalukuyang nasa tindahan sila ngayon at kumakain, paubos na niya ang pang-anim na bote ng pepsi dahil sa sobrang pagod at hilong dinanas niya kanina. Whew.

“Ah, so Je nalang ngayon, nasaan na yung ‘Sir’? And for the record, I still don’t forgive you for the inaapropriate behavior you acted kanina.” nanunuksong sabi nito

“Aba’t?! Muntikan na nga tayong pulutin sa kangkungan kanina tapos you expect me to be in my best conduct?! Innapropriate behavior?!! Seryoso ka?! Matapos mo kong patayin sa nerbyos?!” she snapped. “And please will you cut the fuss out? What’s really goin on?”

“Alright, I surrender.” sabi nito sabay bitaw ng softdrinks na hawak nito. “You already know that I’m handling Anica’s case, right? It’s just that I think there’s something erroneous going on with the case. Kahit saan angulo ko man tingan, even the presented evidence, everything seems suspicious. That’s why ipina-autopsy ko ang katawan ni Anica and find out some drug mule on her. The capsule are so small that it can’t be seen even on X-Ray. At ‘yung mga humahabol sa atin kanina? I believe they’re the murderer’s culprits.”

“Oh my God, do you think the murderer has something to do with a drug syndicate? Come to think of it, the crime scene itself is a little bit weird! Anica’s ex is Raven right? Then bakit sa dinami-rami ng makakatagpo ng bangkay eh si Rica pa na girlfriend ngayon ni Raven--”

“Wait. Anica’s ex-boyfriend is Raven?”

“You don’t know that?” nagtatakang tanong niya. Detective ba talaga ang mokong na to?

“But according to the report I received, Raven is Anica’s brother. Actually he’s the illegitimate son of Ombudsman Reynold Gamboa.”

“What? Panong nangyari yon, eh kitang-kita pa namin sa school kung pano maglampungan ang dalawa. Believe me, they’re not siblings.”

“I don’t know. I still have no evidence to prove that. That’ why I’m asking for your help. I need to monitor Raven to find out whether he’s guilty or innocent.”

“Okay, I’ll do the wiretapping device. You’ll have it tomo-- ”

**Kring! Kring! (Je’s phone buzz)

“Yes? What?! How the hell did that happened?! Sigurado ka? No, don’t tell him anything about it. I’ll be there in.. an hour or two.” nakakunot-noong sabi nito sabay baba ng phone.

“What’s wrong?” tanong niya dito.

“Anica’s body is missing. And there’s been another body found. It’s Rica’s body.”

“Are you out of your mind?!” singhal ni Commisioner Delos Santos kay Chief Kang. “Bakit mo hinayaang madawit ang anak ko sa kasong ito? You know that everything will turn into chaos once na malaman ito sa taas!”

“I’m sorry, Sir. But I can’t do anything about your son. It’s his first assignment as a police officer kaya ganoon nalang ang pagpupursigi nitong masolve ang kaso.”

“That’s bullshit! You have all the power to control him! You must get the case closed as soon as possible before it gets messy again Chief Kang.”
