You could describe my stealthy creeping of the staircase on the top floor as restarted behaviour considering we look like agents from a bad spy movie but at least there was no stupid hand signals that don't make sense.
With one hand holding a box of crispy creams and a love letter, the other holding rope and with My trusty side kick beside me we started unscrewing the nails to the air vent that would get us into Carters office UNSEEN.
I turned the last screw and it fell to the ground with a tiny cling. "Ok, step1. get into the air vent:Check. So far so good". I whisper then climb into the small and claustrophobic air vent beckoning him to follow.
The square framed tunnel was just big enough for Marty's tall figure. He taps me on the back and I stop crawling. "Agent Tan We only have a 1 minute time span as soon as we enter the office to get the letter in his draw so we need to get there in about 6 minutes. That's when he's on his lunch brake."
I nod and start to move but Marty pulls my arm back. I turn to give him an annoyed glare but look down to see that one of the metal squares in the vent had fallen out revealing the principles office. "Thanks" I breath out a sigh of relief because if He hadn't stopped me I would surely have landed on the old hags desk.
"No probs" Marty half mouths. I carefully lean my arms to the other metal square and pull my body over the whole to the other side as does Marty.
After five minutes of crawling through the freezing air vent and eavesdropping on teachers conversations we reach the the vent that will take us to Carters room. "Hey Tan"? I hear Marty's smooth voice through the cold air. "Yes"? I reply pulling myself forward on my hands and knees.
"About the kiss, you know at the party"? I turn to peer at him "mmmm yea".
"I just wanted to say I probably shouldn't have taken advantage of the fact that your chips were poisoned." I mean you must thing I'm some kind of perve or sleeze and I really should have got to know you better before I got physical and all. You were pretty helpless out there on that street bench and I totally took advantage of that.
Anger surges through me as my mouth drops open completely shocked that he would say some thing like that. On the other hand i have only know this guy for what? 2 days?
"What the hell makes you think that you took advantage of me? I was the one taking the lead in that kiss and it wasn't even that good. By the time Your tongue was down my thought I was sober you asshole!
Marty's face portrays shock which is immediately replaced with frustration and anger "Don't try and pretend you didn't love it"! I practically rocked your world Tansy!"
"Did not"! I scream.
"Did so"! Marty yells even louder.
"And by the way you were the one that was kissing back, by the sounds that you were making I'm pretty sure I was the one making your fucking insides melt!" He fumes.
What the duck is that supposed to mean? what was i gonna do? you had me pinned against the wall!" "You could of pushed me away or punched me, pepper spray would have done the job but no. You chose to WRAP YOUR LEGS AROUND MY WAIST? Really Tan. I think that's an indication of, I WANT TO JUMP YOUR BONES. And at least I can admit that it was the most amazing night of my life.
Were both panting lightly from the shouting and I'm staring at him. He's staring at me. This book is way too predictable. NO THERE'S NO ROMANTIC KISS AND SMOOCH SCENES SORRY TO POOP ON YOUR PARTY! We simply just get lost in each others eyes until one word from my brain come out of my mouth involuntarily. "Really"?
"Yes, Tansy it was amazing and wonderful and I would do it a million times over. So know can we get this dare over with and prove to Summer were not Chicken?
I find my self nodding despite my dumbfounded expression and we reach the vent that is on top of Mr Carters Office. I search through my pocket and take out the mini screw driver top open the hatch. As soon as the screws are dismantled I quietly place the metal square to to the side and put my head through the hole scanning the room.
"Cost is clear". I tell Marty and the I hook the rope onto a loop in the inside of the air vent and slowly lower myself into Caters leather chair. The roof creaks as Marty slides down the rope after me and he passes me the box of crispy creams with the note we had written.
If you really must know Julian and Summer helped write the love letter so it's pretty Funny.

I first grabbed one of the crispy creams and split it giving one half to Marty who smiled gratefully and ate it were as I licked all the sugar of the top then ate the bottom. Surely Carter wouldn't notice one of his precious donuts gone considering he hated them.
I then place everything in the bottom draw of the desk and start to climb the rope when the voices of two people walk towards the door of the office.
Marty starts making frantic hand gestures and I climb the rope into the vent as quickly as I can. "Come on get up the rope already will you"! I shout whisper.
"Theirs not enough time ill just hide in the closet, you wait for me up their ok?
The voices are at the door know and they seem to be arguing about something.
I nod at Marty and pull the rope up into the roof and place the metal square back in place. I can still see what's happening in the room because the square as small holes you can peek through.
I see Marty rush to a huge cupboard and open the bras handles to be greeted by a huge cloud of smoke. He disappears in the cupboard the doors closing behind him. Then Carter walks in with The Principle Miss Mackintosh the old hag we had Eaves dropped on earlier.
They both sit and That's when Marty starts sneezing from inside the cupboard.
