Ding-Dong

"Hello, young man, your parents are in the living room and today's dinner will take place on the Veranda." The maid greets Taehyung, letting him in and taking off his coat, hanging it on the Garderobe.

"Thank you, Nancy." Taehyung smiles friendly, slightly bowing his head, before going through the corridor, which leads to the living room.

He loves his parents mansion, it is full of good old memories, Taehyung can't help but chuckle when he thinks about how he and Jimin used to run around the corridors, playing silly games and all that kind of stuff little children do.

"Taehyung-ah! Darling, our son is here!" The woman on the couch yells as she sees Taehyung entering the big room, getting up and hugging her son, greeting him warmly.

"Hey mum, how've you been?" Taehyung asks, his mum pulling away from the hug to lead them to the couch, sitting down.

"Erm...well, we...we've been doing fine...just fine...." His Mum mumbles, avoiding eye contact. Taehyung is about to question his mum for her unusual and weird behavior when his father entered the living room.

"Ahhh, Taehyung! Long time no see!" His father greets him, sitting down on the other couch across Taehyung and his mum.

"Sooo, how is the new flat?" He asks, looking slightly nervous.

'Did I miss something or why are they acting so weird?' Taehyung decides to push that thought away, answering the question.

"It's really great and it has the perfect location; it's central and it takes only 10 minutes for me to get to the company. Even thought it's a little big and empty, since I live alone." He answers, smiling at his parents.

He loves his parents, they are such nice and warm people and they would do everything to make Taehyung happy. Not only that, they also bought him a huge flat for his 22nd birthday. He was so happy to have them.

"That's why we picked it! There's just one thing...we might have to sell it again...but you'll get a new apartment and there you won't be alone anymore!" His father exclaims, looking happily at his wife. She is a little shocked, probably not expecting her husband to be so direct.

"What? We have to sell it? Why? And me not living alone anymore? Do I get a dog? Or a cat? Or- HUUHH! DO I GET A BUNNY?" Taehyung asks and even though he's confused as hell right now, a big smile starts to form on his lips, hopeful to get a cute little bunny, since he always wanted one. His parents would have instantly bought him one, but his mother is allergic to them, so Taehyung never had a bunny.

"Well...People say he looks like a bunny, and I can confirm that, but, no, it's not an animal. Actually, you aren't even allowed to keep pets in apartments... " His mother mumbles, still kind of avoiding Taehyung's now confused eyes.

"What?  I get a new flat? He looks like a bunny? He? Who is he? And I'm not allowed to keep a pet? Also, why are you acting so weirdly?" Too many questions are swirling around in Taehyung's head.

Taehyung's father takes in a deep breath.
"Okay, let me explain; you remember the last contract we signed up? The one with the new building that looked really promising?" He asks calmly.
Taehyung nods, concentrated on the words his father says.

"Well, everything turned out to be fake, and we lost our whole investment."

Taehyung's eyes widen in shock, His brain progressing the words. He doesn't say anything though, he wants his father to continue.

"We tried to sue them, but it seems like they disappeared, nobody ever heard anything about that fake company. The police told us, that this 'company' is actually a big organization, which fakes contracts and protocols so good, even for a pro it's impossible to recognize that it's fake. They have already attacked two companies before ours, but nobody was able to catch them, since they don't leave any kind of a trails. They work clean."

"What? But you invested so much money! And now it's all gone? What about the company, is everything alright?" Taehyung panics. Something like that has never happened before, he is really worried about the big loss.

"Don't worry, Taehyung, everything is okay. Well now it is, before it really wasn't." His mother chuckles sadly, shaking her had.

"Now? What happened?" Taehyung is slowly calming down, but still confused as fuck.

His father looks to his mum, both nodding before turning back to Taehyung.

"Actually, we have news for you. But before we say it, you need to promise not to freak out or something like that. It's probably going to be weird hearing it, but we need you to understand and accept it, since it's not changeable anymore, okay?" His father looks serious, staring directly at his son.

Taehyung hesitantly nods, way too curious and confused to speak right now.

"So, after we lost so much money, the company was slowly crumbling. The employees protested since we couldn't pay them enough anymore and the whole production had to stop. When we were about to give up, a CEO of another big company contacted us, saying that he's going to help us, if we... well...marry you, Taehyung, off to his son. And you're going to live together."

Taehyung's mouth falls open, his throat gets dry, preventing him from talking. Not that this would matter anyways since he's too shocked to form any sentences right now.

A heavy pause.

"Oookayyy, so now that this is cleared, how about we eat dinner now? The sky is beautiful, you can see the stars and it's warm outside. We were actually thinking about barbecuing, but the we didn't have any coal, so today's dinner is going to be lobster." His Mum says, hurriedly standing up and leaving the room to go to the veranda.

Taehyung's father watches his wife leaving and before standing up, he takes a last glance at his son, who is still frozen, not knowing what to think about everything.

"I love lobster!" He then yells, running out of the room to follow his wife.

'...what...did just happen...?' Taehyung's brain is still progressing the fact, that he'll have to marry a total stranger in order to safe the company.
