Roadtrip

Not ready.

It's been a week since Jimin told me about this program. I needed to give him an answer but the truth is I wasn't ready for something like this.

I walked on our first period and Jimin waited for me on our regural seat.

"Good morning." He greeted me.

"Hi" I said as I sat next to him.

"So how have you been?" He asked me.

"Seriously?" I asked him raising a brow.

"What? Is it a bad thing that I care about my friend?" Jimin asked me.

"No but  we were together yesterday." I said.

"What happened yesterday?" Joy said and I looked at her shocked.

"You're back!" I said as hugged her. 

"Yes gurrlll." She said as she hugged me tighter.

"That's probably the best moment in my life these past few days." I said.

"So the money I invested in taking you out on dates was nothing?" Jimin whined.

"Of course not." I said and he smiled.

"But we all know I'm her best friend." Joy said to bug Jimin since she new his soft spot.

"Hahha so bold of you to assume this." He said laughing.

" What ? You don't believe me?" She asked him.

"No because you don't have anything to prove it." He said and I smiled at him proudly for his come back.

I sat back and watched my two best friends fighting for  my best friend spot. This is a typical day in my life.

My thoughts were interrupted by my phone buzzing indicating I had a message.

" Congratulations ! You have been picked out of thousands applicants to enjoy a week worth of  journey with 4 other people. The only thing you need to do is bring your things  and anything you'd like with you and meet your partners at the local park  next friday at 9 am   where you are supposed to leave for your journey! "Wha?" I said confused.

"Is everything okay?" Jimin asked me worried.

"What is this?"I sai not leaving my eyes from the screen.

" Let me see it ." Joy said snatching my phone from my hands.

"What? You're so lucky." Joy said handing the phone to Jimin.

"No! It's weird. I didn't apply for this." I said looking at both of them.

"Are you sure? Because here it says applicants so you must have forgotten that you applied for it."Jimin said.

"NO guys! I did not I would remember it. Maybe it's one of those messagers that are a virus and they actually infect your phone." I said turning off my phone.

"No I think this is leggit!" Jimin said.

"But I didn't apply for this." I said again.

"Who cares? It's a free trip!" Joy said.

"Yeah but with a bunch of strangers." I said.

" And that's wrong because..." Joy said.

"Because you know me . I'm not the kind of person to open up to a stranger easily. Plus I'm the awkwardness eith legs and arms." I said making Jimin and Joy smile.

"Yeah but this is a great chance. After what happened you deserve to get your mind off of  things." Jimin said.

"Yeah but I still have a lot of paper work about the funeral and the house and -" I said but Joy cut me off.

"These things can wait. Maybe this is a chance for you to change. To take things a little more chill to start opening up to people to let go  yourself and just enjoy the moment.Please this will do more good than bad and you know it." Joy said making me think about it.

"Maybe you're right but how do I know that any of these people aren't going to kill me or kidnap me or-" She cut me off once again.

"You're overthinking this and overreacting." Joy said.

"It's just a trip with 4 other people that are probably going to be around your age. What could go possibly wrong? This program is reffering to people from universities  so that means that are responsible people." Joy said.

"No. I'm not going." I said placing my arms in front of my chest.

"Okay since you don't want to do it for yourself please do it for me. " Jimin said looking at me with puppy eyes.

"Last week you said you feel sorry  because i'm always there for you and you feel like I'm losing in life by being there for you. How about you fo on that trip. That would make me really happy and I could finally be at ease if you manage to relax and get your mind off of what happened. I want you to be happy Rev and this trip is a good opportunity for that. Staying inside all day in your parent's house makes things worse for you. You're still so young. You're only 20 and you need to relax and take a risk at times." Jimin said holding my hands.

"I'll g-" I was about to answer when our professor came and so the class started.

The only thing I could think of was this trip. My friends were right. It's okay sometimes to take a risk.

Class finished and we headed to the cafeteria to grab a bite.

"So did you decide?" Joy asked me as we placed down our trays.

"Yup." I said.

"So?" JImin asked me.

"I'm doing it. I'm going." I said and both of them widened their eyes at me.

"I'm so happy for you." Jimin said hugging me.

We ate our lunch.

Joy decideed to join me to the  super market  to get the necesities.

We gathered everything up and she  came at my place.

"Should we watch a movie or something?" She asked me.

"Yeah why not?" I said.

And just like that we had a movie marathon till we were fast asleep.
