Stranded

Storm

This chapter is dedicated to @DITSYME because she made me the most amazing cover for my story!

Pushing myself from the boat I plunged into the warm ocean. I could feel the rush of water as I sunk to the sandy bank. I felt Javier sink into the sand next to me and push off towards the reef. Pushing off the sand I kicked off after him. Gliding past hundreds of small florescent fish, I swam further and further into the Cuban reef. Pushing past Javier I floated my hand through the clusters of pink and red seaweed.

The water began to darken and a strong current pressed us towards the ocean floor. I struggled to push to the surface as I was caught in a strong surge of water. Breaking free I kicked to the surface, gasping for air. Rain pelted down as harsh wind whipped at my face. A flash of light was followed by a deep booming. Strong waves began to push me away from Javier and I thrashed around in panic.

‘Javier!’ I called out in alarm, through the heavy sheath of rain.

No response. My vision was blurred from the rain and I started to feel helpless.

I felt the warmth of Javier’s body as he wrapped a hand around my waist, guiding me towards the boat. The boat shook aggressively and the sail flapped violently as we hauled our bodies onto the deck. I heaved up the anchor as Javier grabbed a hold of the wheel. He spun it vigorously, attempting to make his way out of the storm. The boat shook again and I was thrown to the other side of the deck.

CRACK!

My head made contact with the railing and I lay, limp, on the deck.

‘Isabella!’ Javier called out in panic.

Black dots started to blur my vision. Javier running towards me was the last thing I saw before slipping through the railing.

A/N: I know this chapter is super short but I'm planning on putting another one up either tonight or tomorrow.

I'm not quite sure if i'll be continuing on with this story but i guess ill just see how i go.
