The door into Chase's office was pretty plain. It was made from a dull dark wood and held a simple silver handle. It was nothing like I was expecting, especially from a very rich, well renowned, mafia boss with such a good taste in suits. A smirk covered my lips as the thought ran through my mind. Walking behind Chase along 4 corridors and up 4 flights of stairs really has its perks because the view is beautiful. Realising where my mind was travelling, I quickly change the direction, focusing instead on what lay behind the wooden door. Chase was holding open for me, like a gentleman, a smirk covering his own lips as he gestured for me to walk in.
Glancing each side of me as I stepped over the threshold of the room, my body relaxed as I saw no sign of anything threatening, no traps at all. What? A girl can't be too careful. Making my way further into the room, my eyes scanned over the books stacked along the numerous bookshelves which lined the walls. I shifted my gaze from the sides of the room to the centre where a lonely desk sat, illuminated by the moonlight as it shone through the ceiling to floor windows that covered what would have been the back wall. It was amazing. From the plain door leading into the room I would never have expected to see the glimmering lights of the city be laid out in front of me, a glowing contrast to the dark sky above.
Smiling to myself, I spoke up addressing Chase from my spot by the desk. "Do you like the view?"
I spun around on my heel and smirked at Chase, his cheeks slowly turning a light shade of pink. It was almost as if I had caught him off guard doing something he shouldn't be and considering the fact that earlier I could almost feel his eyes observing every inch of my body I wasn't surprised. Perching on the edge of the desk, I watched in amusement as he nervously pulled at his collar, slowly getting more flustered before he walked over to one of the cabinets and pulled out a bottle of Jack Daniels and two glasses. I hummed in content as he poured out a glass and handed it to me before pouring his own glass and taking a seat in a nearby armchair.
"So what's this deal of yours then Chase?"
He smiles up at me, regaining his confident businessman attitude. Taking a sip of the auburn liquor, he stood and walked over to me, leaning on the desk by my side and standing closer than I would normally allow anyone to. I watch his movements carefully, analysing every move and determining whether he was becoming a threat or not.
"I need your help eliminating my competition. They are growing too strong and too powerful. I believe they were the ones behind the attack on the casino. I need someone to remove them quickly and efficiently, just like you disposed of my men."
I smirked and placed my drink on the desk, closing the distance between us a little further. His eyes subconsciously flicked between my own grey eyes and my lips as he looked down at me.
"What's in it for me? What am I going to get out from this deal?"
He moved slightly closer, his strong jaw set and a smirk on his lips. His breath gently tickled my cheeks as I looked up at him, signalling to me how close we were, yet I felt I was in no danger.
"You get to work for me."
I laughed and turned away, breaking the eye contact we had.
"You really think I actually want to work for you?" I sniggered before continuing. "I'll say it again. What's in it for me?"
Chase smirked and closed the distance between us again. He moved his body so he was stood in front of me, his face dangerously close to mine. Timidly, he placed a hand on my hips, almost afraid I would retaliate negatively from his soft touches.
"Whatever your heart desires."
His voice was husky and low, the vibrations from it almost coursing through my body due to our proximity. Our lips were almost touching now, my breath involuntarily catching in my throat as he gently squeezed my hips. I looked him in the eyes and smirk. I gently lifted my skirt up being very careful not to distract him as he kept staring at my eyes and lips. Taking a deep breath, I pulled him close, our lips only a breath away, using the movement to pierce a needle through the skin in his neck and plunge the fluid into his bloodstream. He staggered back in shock, gripping at his neck.
"What the hell did you just do?"Anger, confusion and slight betrayal were evident in his eyes as he collapsed down in a chair. I shrugged, placing the needle down onto the table, the cartridge now empty. Walking over to him, I quickly did an evaluation of his vital signs before walking back to the desk and looking out over the city.
"It's a knockout drug, partial paralysis first before you fall unconscious, so listen carefully. I'm not interested in you, only the money. I am a hitman after all. I want 40% of everything my targets own. I mean everything Chase."
I turned back around and smirked as I saw his eyes starting to droop. With a shake of my head, I walked over and tilted his head up to face me, placing a brief kiss to his cheek.
"Tonight was fun. Sleep well and pleasure doing business with you."
Those words left my lips, my fingers leaving Chase's face, letting it drop as he faded out. Grabbing my gun from the desk, a smirk covered my lips as I walked out of the room, switching the light off and leaving it in darkness.
