Everyone's freaking out that I'm finally coming home to this washed up town. Deep down I missed this town. I missed my parents, I missed going to school, I missed Ash. I missed everything. Trust me, if you're in a hospital for a whole year you start to go insane.
Let me tell you everything, my name is Berlin Sanders. I'm a seventeen year old girl that stays up too late, and who regrets it in the morning. I was diagnosed with Depression, anxiety, and abandonment issues last year. I don't remember much besides crying a lot, and my bad attempt. But all I know now is that I'm better, I feel so better now. The doctors decided I was finally okay to be at home now. No more horrible hospital food or uncomfortable hospital bed. And oh how I missed my beloved queen sized bed. The only exciting thing about this rejoice was seeing Ash again. I haven't spoken or seen Ash since a year ago the night before I attempted. I missed him so much. I wonder how he is and what he looks like now instead of looking at his Instagram photos. I wanted to see him in real life. Of course I know things might have changed but I was going to do everything I could to push the awkwardness away. I wanted to ask him so many thing. Like, why didn't he come to see me? Or call me? Wasn't he worried?
When I pulled into the driveway to my house the shutters weren't the normal yellow anymore, they were dark blue. There was a group of people waiting for me. They were holding signs, they were smiling like crazy. I only noticed one person, that was Ash. He was in the far back. He was standing there by three other guys and my friend Kylie. He was smiling but like the rest. Just a small smile. My driver finally opened my door for me to get out. When I stepped out everyone started screaming my name, some were even crying. I looked at Ash and his friends. Ash dropped his mouth. My mother ran to me. She literally ran and hugged me to death. "Oh my sweet baby is finally home! Look how much of a wonderful woman you became." She approvingly smiled through her tears. "Thank you mom, I missed you so much." I hugged her back. "Where's dad?" I asked. "He's stuck in traffic but he'll be here soon." She assured me. I hugged a lot if people. Kylie made her way to me. "You look like a model." She causally hugs me. I laugh and say, "Missed you too Ky, you're hilarious." She flips her blonde hair out her eyes. "I'm serious, those guys over there have been talking about you since you stepped out of that car!" She pointed to them, the guys saw her her point and they blushed. "We'll then, I will go over there and scare them away with my weirdness." I left without waiting for her to say something.
I made my way towards them. Ash had his eyes locked on mine. I missed those pretty eyes, I told myself. I hugged Ash without saying anything. It wasn't awkward it was comforting. Until one of those guys cleared their throat. I let go. "You look different." He simply says. "Uh, my hair grew." Was all that I could make out. He was making me nervous and he hadn't even done anything. "It's not that, you just seem different." I just nod. "Not gonna introduce us? Oh okay." Said the boy with black quiff hair and tan skin. Ash never takes his eyes off mine, he clears his throat before speaking. "Berlin, this is Calum, Luke, and Michael." They guy that spoke before with the black quiff hair and tan skin name is Calum. The one with blue hair and extremely beautiful red lips name is Michael. And the blonde cute one with the lip ring name is Luke. "I'm Berlin." I say introducing myself back to the boys. "We know, we heard a lot about you." Luke says. "Bad or good?" I asked the boys. They all repeat the same thing. "Good." "Ash wrote a song about you, that's how we know who you are." Michael confessed. Ash gives Michael the death glare. "Shut up Michael." I look t Ash who's now blushing insanely. "What's it called?" I asked Ash. "Bruised." He murmurs. "Can I hear it someday?" I asked. Suddenly I noticed a change in Ashes mood. "No." He said coldly. It was now becoming awkward and I didn't know why Ash was being so mean for. "Sure she can Ash, stop being an asshole." Luke butted in. Ash threw his hood on hiding his curls. "We have to go, you know, like today." He blurted. All the boys gave each other a look that they only knew and nodded. "It was really nice meeting you and seeing you come home safe." All the boys said. The boys gave me hugs. I liked them they were really nice. They started to walk away. "Coming Ash!?!" Shouted Michael. "Be there in a minute." He shouted back. We stood there for a second before he spoke again. "Look, it's great that you're out of there Berlin. But I don't think we should be friends. As you can see, I'm totally a completely different person and so are you." I felt my heart crumble inside me. My expression changed, my breathing hitched. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked offended and hurt. "It means I'm into a different crowd, and you will probably go back to your group." I had a dry lump in my throat. "That doesn't mean I can't fit in with your group!" He rubbed his forehead, "I just can't see you fitting in with my group Ber." I was obviously hurt. "I can't believe you, first you can't keep in touch with me after everything and then you basically diss me! You're a horrible person." I angrily cried before running inside and slamming the door.
Ash has so changed.
