MONDAY:

"Skai, be quick. I also need to have my bath too, don't you think?" my overly dramatic best friend, Tess questions from outside the bathroom.

"Patience Tess."

She hisses. "I might just break down this door since your sloppy ass doesn't want to hurry up!"

As I wrap my towel around my body, I reply "This isn't even your bathroom- or room" I added, she had a habit of wanting to share things with me.

"Well duhh.. I already know that" we both pull the door open simultaneously, her face wearing a frown on it.

She slides into the bathroom, her eyes crossing with mine for a split second.

"You know that my heater isn't working and I can't stand cold water especially now" she explained from inside.

That was true.

Since we split the bills, we have equal responsibilities but if I remember correctly, the maintenance of the house was part of her side.

"SK, are you even listening to me?" She calls me out of my trance. I was always a deep thinker, who also lost attention of her surroundings.

"SK!" She calls out again "The soap is almost finished."

I sigh, we always ran of liquid soap and that's why I insisted on bar soap but Tess says it isn't gentle to the skin plus it won't give you that expensive feeling.

Like there's anything like that.

A silent sigh leaves my lips. This girl is going to be the death of me, always complaining about almost everything I did, but I liked it- it pushed me forward to do new things.

Myself and Tessa had recently got accepted as receptionists in a grand hotel downtown in California. We were sure very lucky as there were only a few slots left vacant and Tess's witty mouth didn't do us any good in our previous interviews.

Lord knows how happy I am to have a normal life, without.. Harry.

Rolling my eyes, I amble into the room to get dressed. First impressions always matter and- my usual ring tone fills the room.

"Mum, it's been a while" I exclaim, trying to figure the reason for her call.

"Good morning darling, how's my baby doing?'' she inquires, her voice sounding happy, as usual.

"I'm . . Okay. I guess."

"Hmmm. You know I want you to feel your best, right?"

"Yes mum."

"So, I heard you're to be starting your work today and-"

"Mum, I already told about it last week on text. We had a lengthy discussion and the dos and donts, so you don't have to be worried."

"I know baby. I just wanted to be sure that you were fine." she hints.

I inhaled deeply. "you don't have to worry about me all the time. I can assure you that I'm good and healthy."
