At 11:30 she glanced at the digital clock on the coffee table. "I'd better go to bed 'fore Mom and Dad get home." She took the half-eaten pepperoni pizza to the kitchen and left it on the table. As she walked up the carpeted steps with Max at her heels she felt a breeze coming from somewhere. But she was too tired to go check it out so she just forgot about it.
After sleeping for about a hour, Anna awoke to a odd dripping noise. She lowered her hand to where Max slept every night. He licked her hand to let her know everything was O.K. Incorrectly feeling safe she went back to sleep. For little did she know the delivery guy was enjoying the rest of her pizza.
Anna was awakened an few hours later by the dripping noise. Max licked her hand and she fell back asleep.
