Noah and I were walking side by side, quite awkwardly if you ask me. Neither of us seemed to known what to say. Occasionally, Noah would point out a local business and tell me about it.
"How old are you?" I asked, trying to make conversation. Of course, that's always been hard for me. I'm not an an antisocial person, i'm just socially awkward.
"Sixteen." He replied, without even sparing a glance in my direction.
Maybe it's not me who's making this whole trip terrible.
"Oh. Same, I just turned sixteen two months ago." I said, looking over at him. "But I still haven't gotten my driver's license, I kind of suck at driving."
Noah snorted a little. "How many times have you tried?"
"Five. So not too many." I replied with a light shrug of my shoulders.
"Not to brag or anything but I got my license on my first try." He laughed, grinning at me.
Noah toured me through the rest of the town, actually talking to me. Even though it was small, the town had a lot of local businesses that were fun to look at. My favorite place so far was a tiny bookstore with an even tinier coffee shop inside. It sent off a cozy, and warm vibe.

At around noon, we stopped for lunch at a pizza place. It looked fairly large, especially considering the businesses surrounding it's sizes. Inside, it was busy. Parents were with their children, and teens around Noah and I's age were sitting together.
"This is the hangout spot for most people, so it's always busy. But the pizza's good, so I don't really mind." Noah told me, leading me over to one of the few empty seats in the restaurant.
"It sure smells good." I groaned, "I haven't had pizza in forever, not since my mom put me on this weird diet."
"In that case, we'll order your favorite type if pizza. What do you want?" He asked, handing me over the menu.
"I like every type, to be honest." I said, flipping through the pages of the menu. Everything sounded good to me, and judging by the smells, everything would taste good too.
"Even pineapple pizza?" Noah asked, looking at me hopefully.
I nodded.
"You monster...." He gasped.
"I'm offended. I should order pineapple pizza just to get on your nerves." I grumbled, glaring at him.
"Sorry!" He cried. "Just don't get it. Please!"
"Fine. I'm in the mood for cheese anyway." I muttered. I only said that in the first place to get on his nerves.
An old woman who was probably in her fifties came to our table to take our order. We ordered a large cheese pizza and a pitcher of Dr. Pepper, the best soda in my opinion. Noah started talking to the woman, and she turned out to be the owner of this place as well as a friend of his mom.
It took twenty minutes for the pizza to be made but it was definitely worth the wait just as Noah said. I was in the middle of my fourth slice, when two people walked over to our table.
They were both around my age. One was a girl with gentle eyes and a small smile on her face. Her hair was long and was styled into a large afro. She was really pretty and suddenly I felt self-conscious around her. The other one was a boy with golden brown hair land a strong jawline. A pair of round glasses sat upon his face.
"Hey Noah, who's this?" The boy asked, with a small grin on his face.
Great. This dude was sending off major douche vibes.
"Not you again, Justin." Noah sighed and I sent him a confused look. Grabbing my hand, he pulled me forward and off of my seat. "C'mon Daisy."
"Daisy? What a pretty name." Justin said, causing me to gag a little. I've only known this guy for less than five minutes but I already want to punch him.
"Justin, just leave them alone." The girl said, tugging on his arm.
"Ugh, fine. He's not worth my time anyway." Justin groaned, walking away with the girl. He glanced back one last time to yell back at us. "Come to my party Friday night so we can settle this thing between us. And you're invited too, Daisy."

After the events with Justin and the girl, Noah took me over to the docks. He said that they were his favorite part of the whole town, and I agree. The view was beautiful. You could see the lake and it's surrounding mountains clearly. My mom would have loved to paint something like this and if I were artistically talented in any way, I would too.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" Noah asked peeking over at me.
I just nodded, taking in the sight in front of me. I wish I would've packed my camera along with my carry on bags, but now I have to wait for the moving trucks to arrive for it. The sight would just grow legs and walk away, so I had no need to worry.
"I've got to take you home now. Your dad said that you had to be home three."
"Okay."
