Chapter 3
Hey guys! So, I'd just like to say a few things. 1) I don't know how often updates are going to because I have a fair amount of work to Do this summer(we're doing renovations to my house) so yeah, and 2) I don't really know where I'm going with this story. I have an idea of how I want it to end, but I don't have the middle worked out. So please bear with me. Onto the chapter! Hope you enjoy!

Ruby's POV
I open my eyes and stare at the blurry mass of green above me. Is this what Hell looks like? No, idiot. Be a bit nicer Aeron, she's just gone through a massive change. Jade? I didn't think you guys had names... Of course we do, shithead. So then other person, what's your name? Me? It's Myla. That's a pretty name. Thanks! Ughhhhh. Barf, this is too cute. I'm gonna ignore you guys and go look around. Bye. Tuning them out, I look around at my surroundings. The blobs of green turn out to be trees, so it appears that I'm in a forest. I sit up and take a moment to just breathe and think about what's happened. I murdered most people at school and then my parents, afterwards killing myself. But I'm somehow still alive, and in a forest? This makes no sense, but I'll focus on that later. I decide to get up and wander around for a bit. After standing, I brush the dirt off myself and start walking. I have absolutely no idea where I'm going. I just decide to look at what I know about my situation right now. I know that I'm in a forest, my family's dead, and I should be dead.
I eventually come back to real life when I trip over a root. I know, stupid, but hey, we're all human. At least I think I am. Anyways, I stand up again and look at where I am. In the middle of a clearing. The clearing has obviously been used for some ritual. As I'm looking my vision blacks out as a high pitched screech is heard. When it clears the world around me flickers for a brief moment. On the trees people have been tied up, each person displaying different causes of death, the grass is a sickly green, with red. Splattered everywhere is the beautiful color of crimson red, pooling at my feet, drowning the grass, staining everything, the thick substance has claimed the clearing. Then, as quickly as it appeared, the blood was gone, the bodies were gone. "What the fuck was that?" I mutter to myself. Kneeling down, I touch where the blood had been. Dry. No indications that any of the carnage that I had seen had ever been there. No stains from the blood, no withering, no stench, and no marks on the tree. Nothing.
I decide to leave the clearing, getting freaked out by it. I walk for a bit, but I stop after I feel like something changed. I look around trying to figure out what's wrong. Only after seeing the trees blowing in the wind, even though no sound is being produced, I realize that the world has fallen silent. Just to make sure I stomp my foot on the ground, no sound. I scream, still nothing. A piercing scream breaks the silence and the sound comes back, including static that consumes every other sound. I drop to my knees and cover my ears, trying desperately to block out the noise, but my efforts are unsuccessful. The sound seems to be in my mind, and it's making me want to tear out my hair and scream until my vocal cords are destroyed. After several minutes of the horrible sound, it stops. It was there one moment then it just disappeared.
Thoroughly scared at this point I quickly stand and run in a direction. I don't know where I'm going. Tears are streaming down my face, leaving a wet trail on my cheeks, I eventually trip again, but this time I don't stand up, I just curl up into a ball. Rocking back and forth, back and forth. I try to calm myself down but the situation doesn't help, I escaped an abusive life, died, only to be not dead and wake up in a forest, where weird things have been happening. Thinking about all this causes my breathing to speed up and me to start choking for air Shhhhhhh, take a breath. I take in a shaky breath. That's it, now, just focus on my voice. Breath in, Breath out. Myla continues to help me calm from my panic, and persists until my breathing has slowed to a normal pace. I open my eyes, blurred with tears, and stare at the ground. I memorize how the grass moves, how some parts are patchy, some thick. Some spots a dull brown and others a bright green.
That's strange. I thought, Shouldn't the grass be green everywhere? Unless... Moving closer I look at the spots of brown. They seem to be evenly spaced, and in some form of a foot. Could there be humans? Or is it something else? I shiver at that thought, hoping that it isn't the latter. I slowly follow the footsteps, hoping that it's a human that could help me. I end up in a clearing and I look around. The footprints have stopped. The air is tense, like a string, waiting to snap. I see no traces of any human activity. What made those footprints then? After a few more moments of surveying my surroundings. I turn and begin to walk away, seeing as no one is here. As I walk towards the edge of the clearing I hear the ear-splitting static again, only much stronger this time. I drop to the ground and start clawing at my ears and face, managing to draw blood. The last thing I remember hearing is a voice telling me to 'sleep', before I pass out.
