When Alice returned to her room, hours had past. It was just past sunset and the first star of the night had appeared. Alice starred at the mirror for a moment, a faint blush coming to her cheeks. She finally mustered the courage and came closer to the mirror, 'Peter?"
A shine came across the mirror and Alice first saw a background that didn't match her own room, assuming it to belong to Peter's house. She turned around and looked down sadly, not seeing her new friend. But then she heard soft snoring. She turned around and saw her friend had fallen asleep against the bottom of the mirror. Alice smiled and sat on the floor in front of the mirror and tapped it slightly "Peter?"
The boy stirred slightly and sat up more, yawning loudly. He scratched his head and looked around for the one that had woken him.
"Over here..." She giggled
Peter turned around to the mirror and smiled widely "There you are Alice!" his voice the usual echo that was similar to someone talking through a tunnel.
Alice giggled and sat up more "Yes I am. But why were sleeping against the mirror?"
"Oh, well.." Peter turned around and crossed his legs and placed his hands on the floor "I was just waiting for you is all.."
"For...me?"
"Yeah... To Uh..." He trailed off and scratched his head "...I forgot..."
Alice blinked and giggled to herself again, "You're so silly, Peter." She hit the mirror where his shoulder is. When she felt the cool feeling of the mirror, it made her remember that her new friend only lives in the reflection. She looked down and smiled sadly.
Peters eye brows furrowed "Hey what's wrong..?"
She shook her head and smiled "Oh no, it's nothing."
Peter shrugged and smiled again "Okay then! Do you wanna try coming to Neverland again?"
Alice blinked and slowly placed her hand against the mirror "Okay."
Peter grinned wider and placed his hand over hers. It took a moment or so until their hands actually touched, the mirror fading away from between their hands. He instinctively wrapped his hand over hers, holding it softly. Alice was entranced by how warm his hands were. She continually starred at their hands as her imagination began to wander of the two.
"Alice?" A clear cracked voice spoke.
Alice snapped out of her daydream and looked up at her. "Peter?" She saw a faint blush on his cheeks as they stared at each other.
Peter blinked "Hey... You're voice isn't weird anymore." he smiled
Alice giggled "Neither is yours."
Peter made a goofy grin with his brow furrowed. "Heh...I'm gonna start pulling alright."
Alice is gulped slightly and nodded.
Slowly, Peter started to pull her hand. Alice could first see her fingers pull through...and that's it. No more than the very edge of her hand could pass the magic of the mirror.
Peters face dropped as he sighed sadly "Man..." His voice returning to a hollow echo.
Alice slowly drew her hand back and eyed her hand curiously, wondering why that had not worked. "Sorry..."
Peter grew concern and tried to get closer to the mirror "Hey it's alright.. We can still talk right?" he chuckles slightly.
Alice looked up at him, almost shocked, and nodded "Yes! Of course!"
He grinned with a chuckle, rubbing his arm. "So Uh... Hey! Do you wanna hear a song?" He said with a jump, slowly landing back on the ground.
"A song?"
Peter took out a flute and brought it to his lips. It was an upbeat tune that gave Alice an whimsical feeling, as if she could do anything. Peter had his eyes closed all the while. The song grew long and once Alice had begun to pick up on the beat, she had started to sing with it.
