Magic Mirror

Crash

Peter was sitting in his chair one evening, staring at the ground and scratching his chin. Alice had to go do her studies so he decided to use this time to think, though that was not his strong suit. "Hmm..." No matter what his thoughts were, they continued to lead towards his friend who lives in the mirror.

A boy in a bear suit suddenly ran in front of Peter and waved his hands in front of him "Peter! Peter! We have trouble!"

Peter snapped out of his daze and looked up "What is it?"

"Tinker Bell! She won't get up!"

"Tink?" Peter's eyes widen and he quickly flew over to where Tinker Bell sleeps, the Lost Boys surrounding the area as well. Once he made his way through, he lifted his hand and held up the curtain made of leaves. There he saw his fairy friend with a faint glow, having a hard time just to sit up. "Tinker Bell..."

Tinker Bell looked up at Peter and back down.

"Her lights going out!" noted one of the boys.

"Yeah but there's no one new to Neverland..." Peters eyes narrowed, trying to think of what could possibly have done this. The only person he could think of was Alice, but she's not even here and she even said he believed him. But Tinker Bell has been acting strangely recently, moving slower instead of her usual dash. As Peter went through his past few days of trying to determine what could have caused this, one thing kept occurring: the mirror.

After Alice's studies were finally over, she ran to her room and knocked on the mirror "Oh Peter? Peter, are you there?"

A shine passed the mirror and Peter was standing there, with almost a saddened look. He did not make eye contact with Alice. He only starred at the floor.

Something was obviously wrong and Alice grew concern "Peter?"

"Alice..." His voice remaining an echo and his eyes remaining glued to the floor, "You believe in fairies, right?"

Alice blinked and smiled "Of course I do! How could I not after seeing one myself?"

Peter frowned more "Crud..."

Alice tilted her head, confused to at his reaction.

Peter quickly placed his hand against the mirror and looked up at her with a determined glare that almost seemed sad "Can we talk?"

Alice furrowed her eyes as her concern turned into worry. She slowly placed her hand over Peter's.

Peter rested his fingers between hers and looked her in the eye "Alice..." His voice clear now that it sounded as if there was a lump in his throat.

"Y-Yes...?"

"I have to go..."

"Go? To where?"

"No... I have to leave this mirror..."

Alice flinched back. She would have took a step back but Peter gripped her hand.

"The magic...is killing Tinker Bell...if I don't do something she'll..." His voice trailed off.

Alice's eyes widened, tears coming to her eyes. She covered her eyes with her free hand, looking away from him.

"I beg of you, please do not cry..."

"...Please don't leave my side..." She whispered out through sobbing.

Peter closed his eyes slowly "In the world through the mirror, everything is set in reverse. Though our destinies were connected...they should've never intersected..." Peter opened his eyes and smiled sadly, his eyes meeting hers. He slowly let go of her hand and picked up a rock, "Another side of life I've come to see, I won't forget the times you're sad or happy." He then pointed at the mirror, still a sad look on his face, "And in return I want you to promise me, that I will always be..." he gulped hard and shook his head "Within your memories.."

"PET--"

It was too late...he had broken his side of the mirror with the rock. She heard a loud shatter, but it soon quickly faded away, leaving her only to see her reflection.

But if you could only stay, I would tell you it is okay... Even if she gave her magic, I don't need any of it... She looked at herself in the mirror.

I am hoping that right here, maybe one day you'll reappear. Polishing up this old mirror so that I might have you once again right here by my side.. No matter how much time may pass me by, I promise that I'll always be...waiting for you...Peter Pan..
