I'm on my own now Derrick broke it off. I only have my sons. What am I doing with my life? I started to break down and cry. "mommy?" I look over to see luke peeking through the cracked door. "yes baby?" ripping away my tears. "what's wrong?" he said while making a sad puppy dog eyes. "nothing baby. Mommy just misses daddy. That's all." I pick him up and put a smile on my face trying to be brave for them. " let's go see William." I walked out to the living room to see William playing with his toys. "what are you doing there?" I let Luke down. "cars!" he said happily. "can your big brother join?" he shook his head.

I start on dinner watching them play from the kitchen. "mommy?" I look at luke "yes?" "there's someone at the door." I dust off my apron, walking towards the door. My heart starts to pick up hoping it was Derrick. I open the door to see a tall man. He had, emerald green. His skin pale hair was alburn brown with a golden tinge. He was handsome but not smug about it. "Hello?" his voice smooth but husky at the same time. "hi" he stuck out his hand "i just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to meet my neighbors." he smiled nervously. "nice to meet you." I say shyly and a little heartbroken because it wasn't him. I barely shook his hand. "is your husband around" he says as luke and David run to the door. "who are these little guys." I smile "this is luke he's my oldest and this is David he's my youngest." I'm proud of these two boys I love them to death. They flash him a big smile, before running off to watch tv. "and no he's on a business trip he should be getting back soon. Well, it was nice meeting you I have to go now." I shut the door in his face.

I get back to the kitchen and resume cooking dinner. I didn't want to accept that he wasn't a part of my life anymore. I miss him so much, nothing is the same without him.

Dinner went by fast it was filled with laughter and joking. It was nice. Putting down luke was easy he was worn out. I had to read William a bedtime story three times before he finally went to sleep.

I walk back to my empty dark room. Everything was so big now. I change into my nightgown crawling into my bed turning the tv on. There was hardly anything on but I made do. I stayed up until 2 am finally drifting off only to wake up in four hours.

Loud beeping went off I look over to see it's 6 am. I slam the stop button. Getting out of bed. I sleepily walk to William's room. "good morning." I say slowly waking him up. He smiled and slowly but surely got out of bed. " let's go wake up luke."

It took me about thirty minutes to get them ready for preschool. I ran to put on my uniform, for work. I got a job last week when I knew he wasn't coming back. I pick up William and holding luke's hand and rushing to the car. Buckling both into their car seats. I look at the time 7:45 I only had fifteen minutes to get to work. Luckily the daycare place is near my job. I made it pulling into the daycare.

It wasn't long for me to drop them off and get to work. I work at a family dinner across the street. It doesn't make much but it was enough...
