Final Battle

Boboiboy collapsed against the ship's wall, intaking breaths. His Taufan form melted away, and he was his ordinary self again. His heart was barely beating, breaths barely registering. All that's left was a broken crew, and an undefeated villain.

The ship's silent buzz of the machinery sounded too high-pitched. His eyes couldn't adjust to the dim blue lights from the controls. The metal panels were colder than he remembered. He squeezed his eyes shut, hoping to restart his blurry vision. In his semi-conscious state, he accessed the condition of everyone else.

Gopal was knocked out for good, a huge gash running along his head. Ying's shoes and most of her jeans had been burned off, revealing purple flesh and bloody gashes. Yaya's arms were bleeding and swollen. Fang had wounds on his chest, back and left arm where Retak'ka had struck him previously.

His heart stung as he realized that they were trying to escape. This couldn't be happening. The war wasn't over yet.

Originally, he was supposed to be in battle. But a portal opened up and a hand pulled him here before Retak'ka used his solar powers against him. They had saved his life, but they were going to run.

Groaning, Boboiboy rose to his feet, almost stumbling. He headed for the hanger, determined to finish this battle.

"We can't beat him." Fang limped over, blocking Boboiboy's that as blood dripped down his bicep. "We have to retreat."

Boboiboy stared at his friend in disbelief. After all they've been through, he was telling him to give up now?

"We can't just give up!" Boboiboy berated, trying to bypass his taller friend. "If we don't defeat him now, he'll destroy more stations and take more innocent lives... I don't want that!"

Fang shook Boboiboy's shoulder with his unwounded arm. "Look at yourself!" he yelled. "You can barely stand straight, let alone take him head on. He still has your light powers. Do you really think you can win?"

Fang's eyes were chaotic, but also grief-stricken. It was their first loss in a while, and in such a humiliating manner. Boboiboy was understanding of his friend's mind set, but he can't turn his back on a villain that had terrorized his friends.

"I can't just leave!" Boboiboy argued, shaking Fang off. "Not now! I can still fight!"

The ravenette snapped. "Me and Ochobot risked my life to save you back there! Now you're just going to throw your life away?"

"It's my duty as a hero!"

"Enough!" Yaya interjected, standing between the two males, palms held out to the either of them. She turned to the elemental manipulator, her expression deadly. "Fang's right, Boboiboy. In your condition, you can't fight at all. We should retreat and regroup."

Boboiboy pursed his lip. Yaya was always the voice of reason, and he would give anything—anything to keep her away from danger. If Retak'ka was still alive, she wouldn't be safe. None of them would be.

"Yaya..." The brunet's eyes fell on his girlfriend's bleeding fist. He clenched his hands, forcing himself to diminish the stubbornness of battle. "Alright. We'll retreat for now."

He sunk back down to the floor, trying to supress his anger. As the ship rebooted, ready to evacuate, the ship jerked sideways as Boboiboy and Fang slammed towards wall next to Ying and Gopal, worsening their wounds. Yaya managed to catch herself on the chair, though her hands quickly slipped from the blood and she hung from the backrest of the chair on her back instead.

"What's going on?" Ying shrieked. She attempted to stand, but the condition of her legs prevented her to.

Ochobot hovered over the controls, as he was the only one intact and functionable. "Our engines are damaged! Retak'ka found us!"
