Dating a Halstead

ch.3

I've been going with Will to work for the past week since the whole Trevor thing. I told him what Trevor said to me and he immediately called Jay up and now there keeping a close eye on him but Will still doesn't feel comfortable leaving me home by myself.

I was sitting in the lounge area on my phone talking to my sister. today was any normal day. patients being treated by the amazing doctors here.

Will was upstairs doing an MRI to a patient and I was so lonely.. I didn't want to talk to April or Maggie because they seemed busy.

I went back to looking at my phone when a can rolled in. I scrunched my eyebrows and got up. I picked up the can and looked at it. once I looked at it I saw Dr. Choi get up and said "there's been a toxic spill.. evacuate the hospital now" my eyes widen as i turned the can over and saw it said poison on it. I dropped the can and I started to cough.

"Code Orange.. everyone out! get your patients and get out now!" Maggie yelled and than picked up the phone

"this is Maggie.. we have a toxic spill in the ED.. Code Orange.. I repeat Code Orange" she hung up the phone and looked over at me. she saw I started to hyperventilate. she quickly went over to me.

"no...NO!" I screamed as she tried to touch me.

"honey come on, there's been a toxic spill.. we need to get you out now"

"NO!! DONT TOUCH ME" I yelled and cornered myself. she shook her head and ran out and to April.

"Leah's having a panic attack.. I can't get anywhere near her... get Halstead now... she can't be exposed anymore" Maggie said and April nodded and ran out to find Will.

"ok is everyone out" Severide asked Maggie. Maggie shook her head

"Kelly, there's one more girl in there. she has severe anxiety and right now she's having a panic attack.. I can't get her out... only Will knows" Maggie replied

"we need her out now.. shes been exposed by the chemical.. she needs treatment" Severide replied.

"chief" Severide called over to chief

"what we got" Chief said

"A girl with severe anxiety in there... won't let anyone touch her unless its Will" severide filled in the chief.

"get Halstead in a hazmat suit and send him in" Chief replied and Severide nodded.

"ok let's go.. I'll be right behind you" Casey said to Will and he nodded.

they walked in the building and went into the lounge area and found Leah there red because she was burning passed out. Will went to Leah and picked her up and they both walked out of the building.

"I need a gurney now!" Will yelled and April brought over a gurney and he set her down.

"I need oxygen stat" he said to April as he took the hazmat suit off and she nodded and ran off. Will connected Leah to a heart monitor and noticed her Stats were dropping. April came back and put the oxygen mask on Leah. suddenly there was a beeping and Will looked at the monitor.

"there's no heart beat" at this point he started to freak out. he couldn't lose her. April opened up Leah's shirt and started chest compressions and Will got the AED.

"charging at 25" he said as the paddles charged up

" charged.... clear" he said and shocked leah.. April felt her neck and said "no pulse"

"charging at 30" he said and the paddles again charged up

"charged... clear" he said again and shocked her

"still no pulse" April said Will heart started to race... he couldn't lose her

"charging at 35" he said as he noticed some nurses and firefighters gathered around him

"charging....clear" he said and shocked her

"come on Leah...Dont die on me" Will whispered and April felt her neck

"I've got a pulse" she said and Will let out a breath and wiped his sweat

"that was close" he said to himself.

"Halstead" he heard a voice and looked over and saw Severide

"they found what type of poison it it" Severide said

"siyinde (idk how to spell it) "

Will nodded and looked over at Leah.

the hospital was cleared of the poison and they brought all the patients back in. Leah was in the ICU. she couldn't breath on her own so there was a tube down her throat. she was connected to all of these devices. Will changed out of her scrubs to regular clothes. and was sitting holding her hand. Dr. Manning came in and put a hand on his shoulder. he looked behind him and said "hey"

"hey... how's she doing" she asked

"shes improving" Will replied

"that's good... listen Will... I wanted to come and tell you face to face... when you saved Leah today from dying made me realize that my feelings for you haven't gone away... we were going to get married and things fell apart" she said. Will stared at her in surprise. He lost all of his feelings for her once he met Leah. Will squeezed Leah hand and said "I'm sorry you feel that way.... Ms.Manning... I would like some quiet time with my girlfriend"
