He made me feel like I had a chance with him. Then when I try to take that change I realize I never really had one. So yeah I know it's over, even though it never happened. It just felt so real. So now I wonder. Why choose her when I know your in awe when I walk in the room. Why choose her when I smile you smile? Why choose her when you want me? I know we can't be together but it doesn't mean I can't love you. It's crazy how I still don't hate you after breaking my heart multiple times.
- Present Day -
When I plopped on the couch It must've woken Mile cause she sat up. I look over to her. "Sorry if I woke you. Feel better?" I ask.
"I think so. I am sorry Leah I really am"
"Hey it's ok. You just wanted your goodbye memory as a sophomore"
"Yeah I guess I did" She laughs to herself. I join in. "So that boy earlier.. when did you meet him?" I smile.
"Earlier today when I was at Taco Bell" She smiles at me then frowns as reality hits her. "Don't go falling in love with him Leah" I laugh jokingly.
"I won't Mile I just made a new friend. Speaking of which I gotta add him on the socials" Mile smiles at me.
"I'm glad you got out of your comfort zone today. I'm rubbing off on you" She pulls out her phone. "Maybe one day you'll be the one hosting these party's"
"Maybe" I tried to imagine myself at a party, but I just couldn't. Party's aren't my scene at all. I pull out my phone now and start to type Cash's name on Snapchat. "Can I play some music. I need some music in me" I nod. Mile plays "All My Friends" by AJ Mitchell. I throw a pillow at her.
"Not funny!" She laughs. The only reason she played it because one of the lyrics is "All my friends are falling in love" I glare at her then look back at my phone. I add Cash. Then on Instagram I search up his username. I notice he has a million fans. I put my phone down because I needed to step away before I found something I didn't wanna see.
"Do you think we'll ever fall in love L?" I think for a second.
"I can't tell the future M so no promises but I don't know I just have this feeling that it'll happen" Just maybe not at the right time or with the right person.
"You always know what to say" She smiles. I smile back. "So you gonna hang with him again? Cause you can't just replace me ya know" She said jokingly.
"Oh for sure but don't worry maybe I'll invite you next time. I think he'd like you" After a little longer we both fall asleep. It was a long night.- Dream Sequence -
"Leah?" An unknown voice calls out. It was weird I was just walking around in pitch black darkness. "Leah you need to hear me. Tell me you hear me"
"I-I hear you"
"Good. Now I need you to listen" It suddenly gets cold, but I remain silent. "Listen closely Leah I'm only gonna go over this one" I nod as
If they can see me. "Sometimes people fall in love, but that's ok. You can love whoever you want. I just need you to be careful" That's when I see something in the dark. It's a turned on flashlight lying on the ground. I pick it up and start to look around. It still felt like nothing was here but I had a gut feeling to look around.
"Happy ever after only happens in stories and movies Leah. Remember that" I continue to search when I see some type of cauldron. There was nothing in it. "Your not good a mixed signals so let me help you" Out if nowhere the cauldron starts to glow blue. I see a shadow hovering over it. The shadow was pouring different substance into it. I look closer and I could tell. The shadow looked exactly like me. Almost. Her eyes were silver. "One last touch" Neat thing I see is something out of this world. A hologram or a hallucination of some sort. It was Cash and a girl. They were in the back of a car. At a drive thru movie. Cash looked at her like she was his world. They were happy. Then everything disappears. "Don't get in the way of that Leah"
"I-I don't love Cash I met him today"
"You didn't listen"
"Yes ghost shadow version of me. I did. And all I herd was you telling me things I already know"
"You has one thing to do"
"I listened! I did!"
