"Mia, look, if you're really bored, we didn't have to come. It looks super lame that you decided to pull out Oliver Twist in the freaking football bleachers." My friend Alex said with rolled eyes as she made a move to distance herself a little way from me on the dirty school bleachers.

Since it was cold due to the brisk, fall air, she decided to end her bitterness towards me and moved closer so our jean-clad legs were touching. I glanced over at her, seeing the gold and red school colors emanate from her sweatshirt, which was in contrast to the black turtleneck I decided to wear for Homecoming. Her blonde hair was down, with a red bandana wrapped around her forehead with the numbers "2015" to show her school spirit. The gold she wore seemed to sparkle against her hazel eyes that contained gold flecks within them.

I brushed my black hair behind my ear, closing my booklet to oblige my best friend as I turned toward her. It was the last home game of our senior year, and she insisted on dragging me along to create "fond, senior memories." In reality, all I wanted was to stay home and finish my book, but I knew she would bother me for weeks if I decided to not show up. We eventually agreed that I would come, but I was not going to wear any crazy garb to show some stupid school spirit. I mean, there was no point considering our team sucked. I looked at the scoreboard and realized that the other team already made four touchdowns before halftime even started.

"You're the one that made me come, I didn't have a choice," I tucked my book neatly into my messenger bag and brought it close to me in case someone decided to snatch it. "Plus, I only brought it in case I'd be bored...and you've got to admit, it's kind of a boring game, Alex."

She rolled her dark eyes again, "I know, but come on, be exciting!" She nearly screamed, which thankfully, didn't cause that much attention considering it was a football game with almost a thousand students. Besides, the group behind us was being especially rowdy and annoying, so Alex's scream was more of a whisper in the crowd.

"Exciting? How?" I mumbled, actually realizing how loud the people were being behind us. I glanced behind me, groaning to see that it was just the popular crowd being especially rambunctious and school-spirity. I squinted, seeing a large, silver flask being passed along by each person secretly. I wondered why they were being so loud, they would most definitely get caught by a school official soon enough.

"Ugh, you're impossible. Just liven up, we'll leave at halftime," she followed my gaze to mine, realizing that I was staring at our classmates with curiosity and disgust. "You know, drinking would probably remove that stick up your ass, Mia."

My eyes widened as I looked back towards my friend, "I will certainly not drink."

She puffed out some air between her cheeks and opened her mouth to mimick me with her hands in the air, "I will certainly not drink. Fucking hell, Mia, stop being so proper and loosen up. It's our senior year, and who knows what'll happen after we graduate."

I blinked, "After we graduate, we'll be going to the same university?"

She blinked as well, "Yeah, but it's all going to be different."

Continuing our blinking battle of nonchalance, "You're going to be my roommate in the same dormitory, and we're going to both be Arts and Letters students."

She pouted, "Yes, but we get to move out! Some of our classmates aren't going to the same school...we get to meet new people...we get to go out to parties...it's going to be a whole new experience!"

My lips thinned to a line, "Mmm, whatever you say, Alex." I was suddenly startled by an empty water bottle being chucked to my side, aimed at another classmate's head in the same row as us. I stared at surprise, seeing the boy get really angry as he turned his head to the culprit.
