#9 Teacher's pet

No, don't start saying I love your shirt today! just because you want a better score.

If you do that, I personally will come and find you.

Put your best effort in. Sounds stupid to say, and some teachers will still ignore it. However, just occasionally smiling at the teacher, proving that you listen in class, and talking about the subject as if you're interested can cause them to grade your papers and ignore any mistakes on it.

It sounds odd to say teacher's will ignore the mistakes, and not all do. Yet still, for example, I put in a great deal of effort during the first half of my school year and one teacher in specific loved my informative essays. After that point, she gave me bonus points for in-depth knowledge that I provided and I often found myself confused when I'd get bonus points on even a simple assignment like notes.

Then, a friend of mine absolutely despised math. The teacher knew this, but was surprised whenever she would still try her hardest despite having trouble understanding it. This teacher gave her plenty of opportunities to bump her grade up, turn work in late, and made sure she knew what she missed if she was sick. Mainly, all of this attention is because the teacher has long suffered students hating their subject and was just happy to finally have one who paid attention.
