"Guys I have to say something, something that's been in my mind for awhile."
The soon to be high schoolers all stared at their friend with curious eyes waiting for her to continue.
The only person who was worried about what she was going to say was her 'best friend' Cesar.
Thy boy had just tried to kiss her not even 10 minutes ago, had confessed his undying love for her, and how he had wanted to spend the rest of his life with the young girl.
Julisa felt awful about what had happen.
The girl hadn't meant to turn down Cesar but she hadn't felt that way about him since ever. Cesar was like a best friend to her, it crushed her how she had to dodge his kiss and smash his heart.
Julisa loved ALL of her friends, but she didn't want this to change anything between them. Julisa only wanted to feel like herself, although it didn't make a HUGE difference she just wanted to get this secret off her chest, especially after the stunt Cesar just tried to pull.
"I don't want y'all to see me differently, I'm still the same person just with a slight change."
The truth was, the tanned girl was afraid of the thought of having a boyfriend. Julisa thought it would just be easier to like females as well. The girl was halfway there, she always felt 'attracted' to her same gender and was even more terrified of the opposite. So, her feelings grew over time, she was certain that she liked girls and that was final.
Although, it could change the 'fam' but if they didn't accept her, then they weren't really her friends in the beginning, but Julisa was almost certain that they would support her through any 'slight' changes.
Ruby was losing her patience and wanted to know what the girl had to say, she was lost in her thoughts and Ruby was just waiting for her to spit it out.
"So...What is it?"
"I-I like girls."
Now that, that was a surprise.
That was the last thing the fam had thought Julisa was gonna say, especially Cesar.
Sure, it wasn't a big deal but it had caught them ALL of guard, they all had questions but couldn't find the right way to ask them.
The chubby girl had stood slightly embarrassed at what she had said, she saw the shocked expressions but didn't know entirely how they would react after they fully processed it.
"So you're lesbian?"
Monse had elbowed the dark boy making a face at him causing Julisa to laugh.
"Let's not put a label"
Everyone nodded still trying to find the right questions. Cesar stared at her knowing that's why she hadn't kissed him earlier, he was slightly hurt that his childhood crush didn't even like his gender.
Monse stood up giving Julisa a hug knowing it wasn't easy for her to 'come out', but she was glad that her close friend had done it, and felt comfortable enough to let them know.
The 3 boys stayed in the couch, two out of the three were still in shock, while the other one was hurt and confused, so he got up and left.
"What was that about?"
"I know why, but it's fine"
"I'm sure he's just shocked-"
"Like really REALLY shocked"
Julisa and Monse laughed and gave each other a bigger hug knowing that Monse had to leave in the morning for camp.
That summer nobody knew what was gonna happen but it did slightly start off with a 180 and they didn't know that high school was gonna end with a full on 360.
