'Bells, wake up! It's your first day of Junior year and I don't want you to be late!"

I groaned and reluctantly woke up. Damn school and its early morning schedule. I scratched my head, blinking my eyes as I tried to get rid of the intense urge to lay back and fall into deep slumber again. Clearly, I was still in daze.

"Bells! If I don't see you down in ten minutes, I will ground you for a week."

"Oh god, calm down lady! I'm coming." You see, my parents were both early risers, unfortunately they didn't relate to my struggles.

I was so not in the mood to come up with an interesting outfit, so I grabbed the first sundress that came in sight when I opened my wardrobe. I loved wearing dresses, and by that I don't mean those uncomfortable, short, party dresses. I was more of a vintage, sunflower girl. But, I love me some roses too. After I took a long, refreshing shower, my brain stated to function a little. Now all I needed to be fully up and running was my coffee. Since my hair was still a little wet from the shower, I decided to comb it and leave it open to dry. I didn't like using hair dryers that often. Pulling out my favourite denim jacket and my backpack, I ran downstairs to find the rest of my family waiting for me on the breakfast table. (BACKPACK BELOW)

"You're late, we've been waiting for me

"You're late, we've been waiting for me. The bread and coffee is almost cold"

I grinned sheepishly, "sorry everyone. Just getting into the groove again, will take me some time".

"Dad, are you dropping me to school today?" , my younger brother Ethan asked.

"Yes honey. Its your first day of sixth grade after all. What about you Bells?"

" I'm just going to catch a ride with Hailey and Vivian", I said.

Shortly after breakfast, I heard a car honking. I knew that was Hailey. She doesn't stop honking until I come out. "jeez woman, you're giving me headache. This day has barely started and I am going to need all the energy possible to survive all my classes. "

"come on Bells, we all know you're still going to be jumping everywhere, irrespective of your energy levels" Vivian said.

"I can't deny that V" And we all burst out into a fit of laughter.

We reach school 30 minutes later. The entire car journey was spent laughing, singing along to cheesy bops and basically catching up on stuff in each others lives. Hailey, Vivian and I go to collect our time tables. I knew for sure that I wasn't going to be in any classes with all of my friends. Veronica and Kristen joined us too. We were a group of five friends out of which I was the only one who didn't share a single class with any of my friends. All of them were interested in maths, business, accountancy etc hence they had loads of classes together and then there was me, my subjects included english elective, pyschology and history to name a few. A weird, unsettling feeling rose up in my chest but I pushed it away. So what if I didn't share any classes with them, we could still meet in the lunch break and catch up, right? The bell ring, signalling us to go attend our respective classes. We waved at each other one last time and I began walking alone to my alotted class while my four friends left together. I was always so different from my friends, while they gossiped about pointless things, I would read books or listen to music. All of them were very sporty but even though I loved watching games, I didn't really like playing them as such.

Not giving those thoughts much attention, I rushed to my first class which was English. I loved that subject so much and was looking forward to see my syllabus and give this year my best.

"buckle up, Bells. The ride has only just started." I murmured to myself.
