When I was younger I always wondered...

What is death like?

Is it painful? Or not?

Am I going to Hell? Or Heaven?

Do those two places even exist?

Will I be reborn? Or stuck in somewhere for eternity?

But now that I'm older, way older, I'm going to soon get my answer. The heart monitor beeps rhythmically. I'm all alone in this room except for doctors and nurses doing their work.

Reason being I don't have any family. Abandoned in front of a house as a young baby I never knew the faces of my parents. Taken in by the loving family I grew up healthy and happy. They helped me with everything and is the best family I've ever had in my life. Years passed and they have passed away. I never forgotten them though. Now, it's time for me to follow them as well.

The beeping became quicker and my breathing became shallower, until finally.

*Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*

I have died

I don't really feel anything so that answers my first question. I look around me and see nothing but darkness. So that answers the rest of my questions. Pausing, I took a look at myself. I'm surprised to see that my body has become younger. I now look like my 16 year old self. Suddenly I hear a voice.

"Hello there, Trevor Barton."

"Who's there?" Wow, even my voice sounded like my 16 year old self.

"Though I go by many names I am someone you people mainly call... GOD." The voice said from every direction.

"Where am I?" I asked the mysterious voice. "You're in a place called the Bardo which is the space between life and death" God, I can't decide if the voice is male or female, replied.

"What does the GOD want with me?" "As you know I have lived a very long time so I've become really bored. In order to cure my boredom I decided to snag a soul, which happens to be you, and give them an ability or power and one free wish before having them reincarnate while I watch them go through life. So what will it be?"

This is a very unexpected turn of events. I never knew this would happen to me of all people. And the offering of a power and free wish? This sounds just like those fanfictions I read in my younger days to pass time.

Speaking of fanfictions I've read there's one that I really liked and that is the Gamer where people get a game like ability in real life. So I choose that. "I would like to have the Gamer ability." I spoke in a loud and proud voice.

Still can't get over the fact that my voice got younger. Man how I missed raising my voice without backlash.

There was silence for a while before God did a chuckle and said "Heh, this is a first. Normally other people would have wished for super strength or speed or something, but I haven't heard of someone wish for that ability. Very well, your wish is granted. What about that wish?"

Thinking long and hard I decided on one thing that will benefit me the most "For the wish I want to have access to a hundred floored dungeon and enemies within drop money and loots like an RPG game and that three are rest stops every ten floors." if that can happen then I don't need to worry about being bored anymore and would have someplace to train.

"Very well, that shall be done. Now before I reincarnate you I must warn you this world is going to be a bit different from your own" God said but I can pick up a hint of mischievous tone in his voice.
