3. I care...
Just hearing these two simple words can change someone's life. You have to show them that you care. Walk life alongside them. Tell them that their feelings and opinions matter to you, even if you may not understand them all the time. And tell them this coming from your heart. When you care, you show compassion, altruism, respect, empathy and service. These traits mean so much to people. Compassion means being concerned for others who are suffering. When someone is in pain, a compassionate person would feel their pain as though he himself were subjected to it. Altruism is the capacity to put the needs and interests of others before your own. Being an altruistic person means being self-sacrificial. Respect means two things. First, it means recognizing the autonomy of others. Second, it means considering their values to be as important as yours even if they are different from yours. Empathy is the ability to put yourself in another's situation. Service means using your time, treasures and talents to help those in need. Serving is giving beyond what is required. If you show these actions, your friend or family member who is struggling will think highly of you, will turn to you in desperate times. They will think passionately of you because you are kind and you care. They will be impacted in a positive manner. They will be blessed to have someone like YOU in their life.
