Chapter 2

"WWWHYYY?! WHY DID I FORGET THE FORMULA?!" Kimi cried as we left the classroom.

"That was just a single mistake. Calm down." I responded.

"BUT I'M STILL LOWER THAN YOU!"

"Does that matter?"

"YES!" Kimi looked at me agressively.

Of course she's serious about it. Nothing new I guess.

"Well I guess that's enough as payment for my work then?" I faced Kimi.

"No, I'm just gonna pay you back later. I'll just let myself feel bad for not having that question right."

I chuckled and patted her head.

"What is this "payment" that you keep on saying? I've heard it multiple times from you guys, but I don't know what this "payment' is." Jeffery asked after escaping a horde of fangirls.

"Well, what do you think the payment is?" I turned to Jeffery.

"Wow. Very direct answer, Andrei." Kimi sarcastically said.

"Sigh. Anyways, we also have another barrage of quizzes for all the morning classes for tomor
row. Have you guys studied?"

Kimi and I looked at Jeffery in confusion.

"Oh right. Why do I even bother asking you guys? I'm sure any small mistakes you get just gets brushed off by the teacher. You guys sure are loved by the teachers." Jeffery scratched his head.

"Teachers may love us, but you are loved by the students. And I think that matters more as you try to stay at school, not just the class." I responded.

Kimi punched my arm lightly and said,

"Well Andrei, there are 4 consecutive quizes for tomorrow's class. And I'm gonna win on those 4 quizzes. So you better prepare."

"Heh, when did that ever happen?"

"HEY! I'll have you know I'm also in the top honored student list in our class!"

"Yeah, and I'm ALSO in that list." I confidently said.

Kimi pouted. Heh, cute.

"Alright. Here's my stop. I'll get back to our practice. Take care!" Jeffery waved at us as he went towards the gymnasium.

That's the school hearthrob for you. Of course he'll join the basketball team.

We waved back at Jeffery.

We heard girls screaming as Jeffery enters the gym. Of course.

Kimi has this competitive aura that you can always feel when she's at school.

We walked towards the exit, still with Kimi going on about her "beating" me in the quizzes tomorrow. It even lead to her talking about her other "rivals" in the ranking list.

As we step out of the school, Kimi pauses for a while and says,

"So, where do we eat?" She suddenly shifts her mood agressive to gentle.

"Well, my parents are at home sooo.. Wanna eat there?" I offered.

"Hmm.. Okay. I'll pay you back anyway."

"Wait. You're still on about that?"

"Not really. I just wanna spend time with you." Kimi held her hair as the wind blows towards her.

I felt heat rising in my chest. Why was that so adorable?

Kimi lightly punched my arm and said "C'mon, let's go!" She chuckled as we started walking home.
