As the son of a lumber jack got up to his dad's voice a girl laid in the dirt and grass of the forest. When she was to awake she wouldn't remember anything or anyone. The boy got dressed in his blue jean overalls, black t-shirt and a checkered black and red flannel.
"Are you going to work with me or help your mother out?" The boys father asked.
"I'll work tomorrow and help mom today." The boy said as he looked up from tying his boots. The boys father nodded and left the boy alone in his room. The boy stood up and walked to his window. He stared at the trees and their green leaves.
"Hey!" His mother said walking in.
"Hey mom what can I help with today?" He asked as he turned from the window to look at her.
"We're out of berries so I can't make my jam so would you be a dear and go pick black berries along with some raspberries?"
"Yeah of course mom anything anything else?"
"Fold and put your clothes away."
"Okay I'll get right on that" he grabbed his laundry basket to start folding. His mother nodded and left the room. He started to fold his clean laundry while staring out the window. He watched his father's truck pull out of the dirt drive way. He put his neatly folded clothes his dresser.
He went downstairs and grabbed his berry bucket. "I'm going mom!" He said about to leave.
"Oh come give me a kiss before you go!" She said from the kitchen.
He set his empty bucket onto the hard wooden floor. He went into the kitchen and kissed one of his mom's rosy red cheeks.
"Thank you now be safe." Her blood red lips smiled. He turned around to leave. "Conner!"
"Yes?" He turned back around and looked at her.
"Your father forgot his lunch can you drop it off to him?"
"Yes of course mom." He took the brown paper bag from his mother's hands and left the kitchen. He went outside to the side of the wooden stairs where his mountain bike sat. He slide his dark green helmet over his head and got onto the bike.
