Breaking habits are always hard, but you know what's harder? Following directions.
Josie had spent her whole life influenced by her sisters ways. And let's just say her sister wasn't the ideal role model. Her sister had a bit of a.... Well a temper.
And Lizzie's snooty and rude ways hadn't bypassed Josie's radar. Josie just hadn't had a reason to act in the way that her sister deemed necessary. Key words she hadn't.
Now Josie understood why her sister was how she was. It felt great to give people a piece of your mind, to treat them as if they were nothing to you. As if they were below you in every way. Even if they were potentially dangerous.
The more danger the better. Josie just couldn't help the sassy remarks that came out of her mouth as she was dragged everywhere with the Mikaelson girl. She didn't feel bad and she didn't feel as if she were potentially in any sort of danger.
Josie would call Hope's bluff on alot of things but she didn't know if Hope would ever let her go. She wasn't sure if Hope was joking when she had made the comment about her blood type.
She'd seemed pretty serious, with her fangs not even an inch away from her jugular.
So when they entered a bar and Josie spotted a handsome bar tender who just couldn't help but glance Josie's way it sparked a feeling inside Josie. Hope. Hope that he could help.
Josie had faced Hope and told her that she was going to order a drink ( which she wasn't exactly allowed to have since she wasn't legal). Hope didn't know Josie's age so she wasn't exact able to call her a liar.
Hope watched from the wall as the brunette girl took a seat on the stool and grinned at the bartender. Her lips moving quickly and her voice so slight that even Hope couldn't hear it.
His face was handsome, slight golden blonde stubble grazing his cheeks almost as bright as his hair. His white glistening teeth shined in the light and gave him a princely glow and his piercing emerald eyes.
His smile was extra bright as he winked at Josie before turning around to make her the drink she had ordered. Josie visibly swooned as he placed her shot of vodka in front of her.
Hope knew the boy, his name was Niko and he had just moved to New Orleans recently and he had yet to know the rules.
The boy grinned at Josie before trying to turn to a different customer, before he could Josie lurched forward and grabbed at the material adorning his chest.
Hope felt a snarl grow low in her throat as she hoped that Josie would not do what the auburn haired girl thought she would. Hope's wants were gone as Josie locked lips with the bartender. Their kiss would have seemed awkward to others considering that they were stretched across a bar top but it didn't. Actually quite a few people turned to look at the pair muttering nonsense about young love.
' That's bull!' Hope thought with her jaw clinched ' They have literally just met, how could they possibly be in love?'
Though irritated by it Hope let the kiss go on until Josie and her..... bartender broke away for air. When they broke apart their lips were moist and Niko was grinning like he had won a prize.
Josie however just looked throughly pleased with herself, her plan seemingly working as an irritated Hope looked from the wall. Her irritableness just like her father's was shone through her eyes and tightly clenched jaw.
Josie was about to pull the fascinated boy back in for another kiss when Hope stomped over. The previously loud bar had quieted and now all of the people inside were staring at Hope, waiting for her to make her last move.
" That's enough!" Hope barked, her voice sounding as if it held nothing but purely malicious intent.
Josie's eyes twinkled in defiance as she licked her lips. " I'm sorry, I just got a bit-" Josie looked at the bartender and winked, a casual act of flirting that she had gotten from her sister. " Carried away."
Hope's lips curled upward in a way that anyone could only identify as predatory as she stepped onto the opposite side of the bar. Hope was now an inch away from Niko.
Hope smiled at the boy with a false kindness that made Josie uncomfortable but Niko couldn't tell the difference.
Josie shook her head in disappointment. ' I just had to go and pick a dumb one.'
Niko grinned back at hope, his sunshine like presence annoying Hope more by the minute.
Hope looked around at the bar before playing at the strings of Niko's apron. " You are new to town, yes?"
Niko nodded before gulping at the thought of how close they were.
Hope was now looking Niko straight in his green eyes. " Since you are new it would only be fair to show you how things are done around here, right?"
Josie shook her head frantically hoping that some part of Niko's dumb brain would process that she was trying to tell him not to answer.
Niko nodded slowly but the silent bar full of people said nothing.
The look in Hope's eyes was now wild and seeking. Hope was no longer talking to Niko or speaking to the crowd, she was talking straight to Josie.
" Well why don't I personally show you how things are done, so you won't get anything wrong from now on. " A sinister laugh followed that wasn't Hope's own and all the color dropped from Josie's cheeks. She now looked like wilted flower that was ready to die at any moment. What had she gotten herself into?
